Lucy: A very enjoyable read, interesting and different than anything I’ve read before. Very clear imagination and I’m looking forward to the next book.

Nita King: That is exactly how Basic training was like for me, minus the green glowing lights! Everything was like that but Sundays! Sunday's you had a choice of going to Church all day long or doing you laundry!

Cathy P: This book could probably have been summed up in a few chapters. No world building, no description of main character, her family consists of unfeeling workaholics and she ends up in Army boot camp. She has a mysterious power we know nothing about and an uncle who may have answers that we know nothing about. And for all the lack of details of anything of importance, the extreme details of book camp were interesting. Not sure if I'm gonna read book two. Sounds like the setup to anything is going to be slow going.
Book is told from h POV. Ends with completion of boot camp. Series will need to be read in order. No romantic interest. The h just turned 18.

Macca: Having passed basic training, I can relate to this yarn.
Team building, discipline and character take on whole other meanings.

Millsy: The point of view is of at first bit that really only occurs at the beginning at least that i noticed.
The story is very much just beginning as she goes through her training. I always prefer much longer books but i still don't mind this book finishing as she completes her training though it does make the series more expensive with short books.
I do recommend it. It has plenty of likeable characters and plenty of mystery to keep things interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Portista: Idina, 17 years old and artistic, comes from one of those families that are wealthy enough to not know how much money they have, and to have people whose job it is to keep making them more. Except for one thing: the Moorfields know exactly how much money they have, and every adult— that is, everyone other than Idina— is actively involved in finance in order to make them more.
Idina is bored tearless by finance. Expected to go to Harvard as everyone else in her family has in generations and to major in business, she has instead applied to Dartmouth’s art school, and her portfolio is good enough that she’s been offered almost a full ride. Her family will _not_ approve, but she needs her parents’ signature to go, since she’s underage.
Oh, and Idina has a quirk— when she concentrates on something, especially her art, she sees green lines that guide her hand and eye. She also sees them sometimes when there’s something that needs her attention, and she puts out sparks when emotional. Unfortunately, her family sees them as well, and is upset by them— they’ve had her medicated for years.
Idina knows that she’s going to need more than just her...

Kindle Customer: This new series so far seems to be based on Earth .... a world similar to our own.
The story in one sentence- A 18 yr old girl - who may have some kind of power- leaves her family to joins the army .
The start of the series focuses on the circumstances leading to her joining the army and her basic training . And we're only given glimpses of 'how' her 'power' works ...... nothing on the why or where it comes from.

M. Menagerie: Compelling characters and intriguing backstory. This first book certainly sets up a number of possibilities for future plot lines with a likeable, string willed main character.
