Alexander McCall: We’re back, once again, with the most anime of book series. This time Max and Casey must climb higher than ever to a floor that encloses a crime ridden city. It is there, in the midst of a brewing gang war, that they must fight for a mysterious document and siblings will be forced to clash again.
This series is like chocolate for me. It’s not very good for me but I can’t keep away. After the tournament arc Max is left beaten but not broken and filled with a desire to save his sister from herself. And he’s still very much a Main Character. He pulls off incredible last minutes changes of fate and everyone who sees him marvels at how cool and inspiring he is. I honestly don’t know why I don’t hate him but he manages to still be very likeable.
It helps that, more than the others, this books lets side characters shine. And some of them are great. My favourite is the mob boss Jimmy the Frog, who has hilariously stupid powers and somehow manages to pull it off. The different locations are also pretty good. There’s the city, sure, but there’s also a cool junkyard floor which has some nice imagery in the fights there. And finally we get the background of what happened...

john mulligan: This read good, but it comes across as being written by someone with little LITRpg experience as there are thing that just don't add up.
What happens to all the stuff the Climbers have when they Die, how are the Stats so important in the beginning and later just ignored, if he Travelled all the way up there being as was said before close to levelling how come he never managed it in the loads of Floors before and if the big bad guy is so powerful why all the crap plans, he could have just walked up and killed the God King before this, just too many holes.

Goody: This story is mostly g rated and then it adds r rated plot twist. The Mc finds his sister, but learns she was tortured for years by the people he works for. He gets amazing powers. But his childhood was spent in a wheelchair and getting beaten up at school and at the orphanage.

Luis Tamarez: I overall liked the book, although it did feel a bit rushed. Also the author tends to overly rely of the skill fusion element to create fake tension, this is even more obvious when the MC waits until he is in the middle of a big fight to magically fuse a skill and viola problem solved. If it was just once or twice it wouldn't be such a big issue but it happened way too many times in one book. This takes away from the fun aspects of experimentation, all for creating cheap tension that's resolved in the knick of time where the MC gets a sudden bout of "genius insight".

May b: As person who has read authors other books in the series and his other works. I have grown to really like the author and his writing style. This books was great I love the characters and just about everything. But the part I didn’t like was to me that it felt rushed. I felt some points were really detailed and other points were glossed over. This is not his best book in the series. I hope for his book he goes back to how the first three books were. I’m still going to support and read his books. He is amazing author. I’m not hating at all. I just want to see him succeed and become a even better author.

Amazon Customer: This book fell flat in my opinion. The author just jumped around to much, would get into needlessly long and pointless backstories that made no sense at times, fight scenes were anti-climatic as EVERY fight was “oh no I don’t know what to do…wait I’ll use my super move!” And fight is over.
Probably the last time I read this series.

Dhruv: Damn!! This was absolutely the most amazing thing I've ever read in my life!! (And I've read a lot of books). This book has everything you could expect feom a great book. Adventure, cultivation, super powers and abilities. Even Family drama and Romance. Jakob tanner, I don't know how you thought this book up, but I need more of it.!! You better get on your writing desk and don't get up till you have the next part ready!!!

Client Kindle: I liked the story and characters, but I have to say the constant flash backs were really tiring. Forgot of it one or two that really brought something, ten or twenty are just useless pages and I had to skip a few, to avoid being bored too much. I hope the next book will feature less of these! And maybe less writing of noises (don't know how to say that in English, all the boom, crash, shining, and so on)

Adian: The series started off well and then had progressed into bad anime. How many times are we going to fall back on the “This pipsqueek will never defeat me. I am blah blah rank”. “You will never stand against my ultimate form”. “Grrr how did you…”.
Book 4 was def a struggle to get through. Much less about progression and gaining levels than previous books. And the constant use of anime villain tropes is just getting exhausting. Think I’ll
Just skip to the end of the last book and then move on.
