Nessa: This one was tough because it went into Sienna's history with her mom, and some of that was difficult to read. Also, her treatment in this book, in general, was so unfair. I did enjoy the story overall, very engaging.

Cap: These books are great - intriguing, confusing with violence, despair and just a little care and laughter,
You cannot anticipate what’s going to happen next, who the good guys are, looking forward to the next book

Alexis: I've been hooked on this series since I read books 1,2, and 3. I've finished book 4 just now, and im starting on book 5, I lovvveeeeeee these books ,cant put them down!!!!!! I'm waiting on book 12 coming out this month, cant wait to buy it, these books by Robert J Crane are amazing!!!!! Everything I love in books like these, I might be 57 in age, but im a big kid at heart ,and always will be!. I'd definitely recommend these books to anyone to read . I dont give anything away when I'm putting up a review, as it isn't fair to spoil the storyline, I make my mind up when I click on a book and start reading what the author says its all about , if it grabs me when I read it I buy it! And thats the way I've always done it, it never fails me , I've never regretted buying a book this way. Thank you Robert J Crane for your wonderful books! I've bought all 11 of them and buying book 12 soon!.

MJ: I enjoyed the first three books in this series and they're free, which is always a bonus. Books 1-3 collectively are the length of a single book, in my opinion, book 4 was more like an extended edition than a novel in its own right. This is the reason for my 4 rather than 5 star rating. I read the reviews so I knew before I purchased book 4 that it was a short read but it's much shorter than I expected. It has potential to be a great book but falls into the short story category, which the cost doesn't reflect. It's going to make me think before buying the next 'book' as it's going to end up being an expensive series.
However, I did enjoy it! The characters are well written and the storyline is engaging. It's just a shame it's not longer.

Jack Murphy: In book 4, Sienna Nealon's story continues. She's an 18 year old metahuman working for the Directorate and has to deal with rejection from almost everyone, or so it seems, mostly because of the things her family had done. Add to the story's drama is the angst of Sienna transitioning from childhood to adulthood. Of course, she's going to make mistakes and bad decisions, but each of these decisions seem to end with someone dead and the lives of hundreds of people affected. I ached for Sienna. I saw a little bit of my daughter in Sienna, and even shed some tears as I read about all the negativity she's encountered from agency people and the harsh things done to her by her family. The ones who should have had her back. Her treatment was so bad, that at one point in the story she's come from a battle in which she and her team are bombed, agents killed, she's betrayed by her mom, aunt, a potential lover and a very special entity, named Andromeda, is murdered right in front of her. She's taken to the medical facility...offers information to help the agency and is immediately treated as a traitor. She's filthy, hasn't eaten, is paraded around campus like a "perp" in cuffs, ridiculed, and...

KJ Nolan: I really enjoyed the first 3 novels in this series. They might be classified as YA books but even we adults enjoy something a little less emotional or a little more light hearted once in a while. The First 3 books I could tell the author was a man. There was less depth to the characters and the emotions seemed a little stunted.
That changed with his 4th book "Family". Robert Crane is coming into his own as an author. The characters have so much more depth and are much more interesting. AS for it being a YA book, being less intense, emotional or lighthearted. This book blew that out of the water. Every chapter was fraught with emotionally challenging events. Some were scarier and more violent than I expected. It was a great, if disturbing, surprise.
The main character finally becomes a young woman no longer afraid of making her own decisions and by the end of the book, no longer under the dominance of a cruel mother. This was the one person she had to come face to face with to finally break those chains of bondage. This scene is both poignant, suspenseful and very different from how I thought their conflict would come to a head.
I'm getting ready to read the 5th book in...

Emily Young: These books, which a friend bullied in into reading, have become something of a guilty pleasure for me now! No, they’re not exactly literary masterpieces, but they are good fun.
