Nita King: That is exactly how Basic training was like for me, minus the green glowing lights! Everything was like that but Sundays! Sunday's you had a choice of going to Church all day long or doing you laundry!

Cathy P: This book could probably have been summed up in a few chapters. No world building, no description of main character, her family consists of unfeeling workaholics and she ends up in Army boot camp. She has a mysterious power we know nothing about and an uncle who may have answers that we know nothing about. And for all the lack of details of anything of importance, the extreme details of book camp were interesting. Not sure if I'm gonna read book two. Sounds like the setup to anything is going to be slow going.
Book is told from h POV. Ends with completion of boot camp. Series will need to be read in order. No romantic interest. The h just turned 18.

Millsy: The point of view is of at first bit that really only occurs at the beginning at least that i noticed.

The story is very much just beginning as she goes through her training. I always prefer much longer books but i still don't mind this book finishing as she completes her training though it does make the series more expensive with short books.

I do recommend it. It has plenty of likeable characters and plenty of mystery to keep things interesting. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Full of mystery, angst, action and interpersonal growth!
I'm off to read the read the next book...

Kindle Customer: This new series so far seems to be based on Earth .... a world similar to our own.
The story in one sentence- A 18 yr old girl - who may have some kind of power- leaves her family to joins the army .
The start of the series focuses on the circumstances leading to her joining the army and her basic training . And we're only given glimpses of 'how' her 'power' works ...... nothing on the why or where it comes from.
