It was also awkward to push up the trimmer in position to work. It wiggled more than other razor/pop-up trimmers I've had, like on the Braun. It also feel BIG in your hands. The Braun 3040S trimmer is very firm and sturdy and only cost me $35. The old style design on this Remington was not worth the extra money.
Glad I switched to a less expensive Braun model.

Henk Van Voorst: This product works very well. I bought it because I liked the vintage style and it turns out to be a great shaver. It charges quickly and gives me a close shave.

Gary: Great little shaver, i didnt expect it to shave very close because its electric but it does shave quite close leaves a little stubble behind, i suspect it will get better as time goes on and more times my skin has time to get use to the way it works but a safety razor will always be the closest shave you can get. i bought this one because i am on home oxygen and COPD, and Amyloidosis so i dont get into the shower much to shave so the electric one is for in between times which so far is working quite well i am very pleased and yes very little next to no razor burn on the neck area

Amazon Customer: Slow-ish motor. Hard to shave right under nose. Plastic case. USB charging and replaceable cutter is a selling point. Plus side now … still going after three years. I was able to buy replacement cutters on eBay which shipped from Italy, because Europe still sells this model.

General28: I can’t believe I’m giving an electric shaver a 5 star review! However, I find this Remington to be a great product.
First off, let's get one thing out of the way. If you’re looking for a shave as close as a blade, you’re not going to find it in any electric shaver. With that being said, I have used quite a number of blade and electric shavers over the years, so I can speak from experience.
As with any new electric shaver, it takes awhile to get the hang of getting the best results from it. This particular shaver, once you’re used to using it, gives a surprisingly good shave with less work and skin stretching than say, a Braun. It’s louder than a Norelco (what isn’t) but it seems a little quieter than the Braun that I have. It’s pretty easy to use and clean. The battery life seems very good. I charge it once every week or two and there always seems to be plenty of battery life left regardless. It gets all of the hard to reach areas, under the nose, around the cheek bones, under the chin.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the really cool, retro style! It has that 50s/60s Mad Men retro vibe. I loved the look and style when I bought it, but...

Colibri: Lo compré para regalárselo a mi esposo y la verdad nos encantó, desde su caja hasta la bolsa para transportarla, es muy elegante y más grande de lo q se ve en la imagen, muy masculina, práctica y funcional, la super recomiendo.

chris319: The first thing you notice is that it's kind of bulky. It's the shaver I imagine John Daly and Bennett Cerf used when Remington sponsored What's My Line? in the '50s with many, many ads for Remington electric shavers, so it has kind of a retro feel to it.
This razor has three foil heads and it shaves like a dream, quickly and comfortably. I think the third head really makes a difference. I don't have to keep going over the same spot over and over again until the stubble is gone. My problem areas are under my chin and my neck, and this razor cleans up those areas quite nicely with very little effort.
I was so disappointed with my Remington F5-5800 which has a flimsy plastic assembly to hold the foil in place. After a few months of use this plastic assembly wouldn't stay attached to the razor and kept coming off, making it impossible to get a shave. This made the entire razor useless and destined for the landfill. Replacements are $12 each (used to be $25), and who wants to spend that money every few months?
On this razor, the foil is held in place by a much sturdier mechanism which locks into place. The razor can be used cordlessly or with the cord plugged into...

David T Hill: This is a beautiful electric razor, at once, solid, heavy and elegant. I really like its retro look, especially the old school "on/off" toggle switch. I smiled when I saw that charming little feature.
It gives a nice shave using the "circular motion" technique required with an electric razor. Of course, the result is nowhere near as close as a DE blade gives (which I have used for about 15 years) or even the modern 2-5 blade disposable razors. But this is an electric razor; you can't expect it to give as good a shave as a DE. If you're going to be disappointed because it is "not as close as", then stick to DE blades. However, compared to other electric razors I have tried (about 5), this is the best.
Many of the negative comments about this razor are that it is "loud". I didn't notice that myself. Perhaps it's a little louder than others I've tried, but not enough to make an issue of it IMHO. It is an electric razor after all and has to make some noise.

Jake's Take: It's an average electric razor and no replacement parts are available even though the price is high. It's basically a cheap razor made in China. My opinion is that the company is going to file for bankruptcy or "reorganize" and this is a last ditch cash grab. As a Remington customer for over 40 years my advice is to avoid this product.
