Vincent: An excellent shaver! Well made and long lasting--and priced so much better than their "top of the line" models, which don't seem to provide any significant additional advantages.

Supposedly, you can clean this model under running water. That's probably true, but for me, it's easy enough to just use a little brush for everyday cleanings, and disassemble the cutters for more complete cleanings a few times a year.

Mókus: Very good shaver, does a nice shaving job. It is very hard to get a corded electric shaver these days. This Philips Norelco is a rare option for rotary shavers. The battery life was not tested, only used with plugged in to the outlet.

Howard l. Snell: I’ve used the Norelco 3100 for several weeks and am pleased with it’s convenience and the quality of the shave I get with it. I’m new to shavers - always used a simple disposable razor before. I have a sparse beard and am a casual shaver - usually several days between shaves sometimes a week if I’m traveling. I was always nicking my face with the razor & tired of small bleeding spots that needed brief attention so I decided to try a shaver. Definitely a different technique - multiple passes over the same area gives great results. Doubt I’ll go back to the razor!

I’ve only had one issue with the Norelco - I was cleaning it without completely reading the instructions and saw a small circular piece with arrows on it. Gave it a twist and shook the razor - mistake! Cutters and holders fell out - completely my fault & no problem to re-install but if you get one of these follow the instructions!

JW: This is a great electric shaver. So far, it has been working very well for over a month. The actual duration of a single charge is about 13-14 days, at about 3 minutes shaving time per day. One can start feeling the "Lithium-ion" battery being low on juice at about 9-10 days, but motor still running strong until it suddenly stops at 13-14 days. Some people might have issues regarding durability of rechargeable batteries, but from my experience, one has to fully charge the shaver from the beginning and run it until it is completely out of juice/stops. Then recharge it again to full and do the same thing a 2nd time. Afterwards, just recharge once a week to keep the motor running at optimum. Do the complete battery drain about once every 2 or 3 months to keep the "Lithium-ion" battery fresh and to keep it at long life, this goes for most rechargeable batteries (cellphones...). Also, to keep shaver in top condition, rinse it in hot or warm water about once every 2 weeks (or when you are ready to recharge it). Let it dry and recharge it. Will: Have been using this Phillips Norelco shaver for almost 2 weeks and haven't had to charge it once yet, other than the initial charge when I first received it. Easily charged overnight. I had an older extremely similar style with an electrical cord that was probably 10 years old. Never had a cordless before and while skeptical, I found this to be very nice. And since I haven't had to charge it once yet and it's been almost 2 weeks, I am pleased. Also nice to know that when the battery finally does die, I can run the shaver straight from the electric socket. It is much lighter than the previous shaver that I had similar to it, and at first it felt like it was cheaper and not is well-built. But I guess after 10 years or so, materials have gotten better and it is just lighter. Time will tell if it lasts 10 years. With the new blades and the way it shapes to your face, I cut my shaving time in half. I don't have a thick beard, and perhaps that is why my charge has lasted so long. Being able to pop open the top and rinse it under the faucet is extremely nice. Beats the heck out of having to take out all of the blades and clean them with a brush.
