Peter: I have been pleased with the quality of this shaver. As good as many previous much more expensive units I have had.

Sadly, 1 year later, I cannot find the correct replacement blades either through Amazon or directly from Panasonic.

Alemarh: La rasuradora funciona muy bien. Corta muy bien la barba, no irrita la piel.

He usado anteriormente las marcas Philips y Braun, y por primera vez utilizo una Panasonic. Ésta no me defraudó, corta casi al ras la barba, los resultados obtenidos son más que aceptables.

Algunas "contras", si eres muy exigente verás que: el plástico que se utiliza en su construcción no es de la mejor calidad. A diferencia las rasuradoras Philips, que solo utilizan el cable de corriente eléctrica para cargarse, la rasuradora Panasonic tiene un cargador externo.

Por su relación precio - beneficio, la considero una muy buena compra.

SEN: Al grano: Amazon entregó en la fecha indicada, es una buena rasuradora, a buen precio.

Versión más larga: he tenido varias Philips / Norelco y Braun (modelos más caros que éste), ésta es mi segunda Panasonic, refuerza mi opinión de que es una mejor opción:

Philips: rasuran bien, no hay mucho lugar para los pelitos que se cortan por lo que hay que desalojarlos seguido, a veces dos veces por rasurada; hacen menos ruido que las demás, la pila parece durar menos que con las demás marcas; negativo: hace un par de años decidieron cambiar de repuestos y de modelos, era difícil encontrar el repuesto, los que estaban disponibles eran muy caros (4x el precio normal) y todo el mundo se queja del nuevo repuesto; producto decente, caro, empresa poco confiable.

Braun: tengo la serie 7 (dos peldaños arriba), rasura bien, un poco menos a ras, es la única que me ralló la cara; el siguiente repuesto se desarmó al abrir el paquete. Marca alemana (bueno, Procter and Gamble) sin calidad alemana: no, gracias.

Panasonic: rasuran bien, a ras (nunca será lo mismo que una rasuradora manual, pero tampoco te van a cortar), muy confiables, repuestos a precios más...

RagingBull: Obviously from some other reviews everybody's beard is different.I have had Philishave, Remington and Braun shavers and nothing shaves as close for me as this panasonic. For my beard the Rotary shavers are the worst. Best is Panasonic followed by Braun then Remington and Philishave last. This Panasonic even shaves my neck hair close which none of the other shavers do. Do not make the mistake of thinking the 4 blade shaver would be even better, I made this mistake last christmas and bought the Panasonic 4 blade shaver for more money and it did not give near as good a shave as this 3 blade model.

R. E. Peterson: The Panasonic ES-RT51 is so much better than the Braun 370 I’ve been using, I want to give a detailed comparison here for anyone else who’s looking for a Braun alternative.

After years of believing that Braun shavers were awesome, the model 370 I got a couple of years ago was a great disappointment. This model had the wider head that all Braun shavers now have (a change that I think the company completed around 2010), and it required many many passes to shave well and often failed to get long hairs. So after a couple of years of struggling with it, I bought the Panasonic ES-RT51. This was like going back to one of the older Brauns only better. (The head of the Panasonic even looks like that of the old narrow-head Brauns.)

The Panasonic needs very few passes to give an excellent shave, even on my neck, where the Braun required dozens of passes and still routinely missed individual hairs and even whole patches. The Panasonic doesn’t miss anything if you use it carefully. In the month I’ve been using it, I’ve grown careless with it because it requires so much less diligence than the Braun. Even so, it has missed long hairs on my neck only twice.

D. Deutsch: I found that this Panasonic is quiet and powerful. It got the job done quickly and conformed to my face well. It charged within an hour and the numerical battery indicator was a nice touch. Using a shaving gell felt really good with this shaver. Contact was smooth and effortless. Best of all, I did not experience the typical razor burn that has plagued me for years. I attribute this more to the Panasonic's design and less to the wet shave. Using a razor with shaving cream has also produced razor burn, particularly under my chin.

I know I am going to sound like a bit of a shill because I have only used this product recently, but I have shaved with several different brands and models of electric shavers over the years. What I have not done is used a wet electric shaver before. I think that being able to use a wet shaver compared to a dry one will produce a superior shave regardless of brand. But the Panasonic is a superior shaver compared to others in its class.

Update 8/15/12: After using this shaver for a couple of weeks I feel that I have to add to my original review. The honeymoon is over and I think that I am a bit more objective. This shaver continues to forego...
