Panasonic ES-LT41-K Arc3 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver for a Smooth, Close Shave

derekp: As I suffer from ingrown hairs around my mouth, I have a bit of an unorthodox shaving method where I use the trimmer for that area and finish my face with the shaver as intended. The trimmer on this thing is the best I’ve used, and it isn’t even close. Standard shaving performance is excellent too.

I had been using a Philips rotary shaver that cost 3x what this Panasonic did, but they did me dirty and stopped making their excellent replacement heads for some plastic abominations. I suffered through 2 of those heads until the trimmer snapped, and then disavowed the brand altogether. That Philips with its original rotary head provided a better overall shave on my angled face, but that was long ago and is seemingly unavailable now. I replaced it with a Braun that cost a little more than this Panasonic temporarily. The Braun shaved about as well as the Panasonic, but the trimmer assembly felt cheap, and the large gaps in the comb/blade made it useless for my purposes. After that ridiculous commercial their parent company Gillette released, I decided I had suffered long enough and bought the Panasonic. EmbeddedFlyer: My last 4 shavers cost far more than this one and none of them shaved as well. In the last several years I've owned three high-end Philips Norelco rotary shavers and a high-end Braun Series 7 all of which cost at least twice what this ES-LT41 did. Back in the old days the Ni-Mh batteries would grow weak and I'd buy a new razor. But with longer lasting Li-Ion batteries, Philips seems to have decided to make blades that dull really fast, are ridiculously expensive to replace and, to make things even worse, the "redesign" of their replacement blades for older models are inferior to the blades the shaver came with (i.e. going from free floating cutting heads to only semi-floating cutting heads that pull and tug on hairs more).

Philips foolishly decided to get rid of the pop up trimmer on many of their models requiring you to remove the entire head and replace it with a trimmer head. Really? Philips has lost me as a customer for life. This whole shaver cost only slightly more than replacement blades for my last Philips Norelco and the Panasonic is superior in every way.

Joey Moji: This is a great electric razor, period. Don't be swayed by the few, rare negative reviews here by some. These sparse, negative one star reviews here state things like "too noisy and does not do clean shave", or "Did not meat expectations. Does not shave well.", and "Terrible, virtually does not cut at all". All of these statements, although opinions, are completely groundless in my opinion. Either these reviewers have some personal vendetta against this fine product, or their beards are as tough as a metal shop push broom or a bristle brush doormat that you wipe mud from your boots onto. Not sure, but I have used many electric razors and this particular one works great.

Honestly, the Panasonic ES-LT41 Arc 3 electric razor is the best razor I have owned. I previously had a Braun 5775, which was a good razor and shaved well, but I had it many years and the battery was dying, so I did some research into a good, reasonably priced replacement, and the Panasonic ES-LT41 had many positive reviews, from consumers to professional testers, so I settled on this model and am completely satisfied that I did so. I think both Panasonic and Braun shavers are the best on the market today,...

J D P: Works alright. Not overly loud. Does not trim hair well once it is past a certain length. Best if used every day or two depending on how fast your facial hair grow. It says Wet/Dry, and you can stick the head under a tap, but the charge port on the back is open with no cover. I would not take this product in the shower. (it does say in the manual not to get it wet, then goes on to tell you how it is a wet/dry shaver)

However, I regret buying this if only for the simple fact I could have ordered a comparable shaver from Costco, for less.
