I have it hooked up to a computer system so I make sure that it is recording. The video quality is very good. Gregory A. Hosler: I purchased this system in 2020 and recently one of the cameras went out. When I reached out via email to tech support about how to test, they got back to me within a day and clearly described with a picture how to test the camera. Camera tested good. So I was able to identify a bad BNC Cable as the culprit. All is working well now. Update: on 9/28/2023....changed rating to a 5 star because after I had the problem described above another different problem cropped up with a different camera. The tech support response for the 2nd issue was, once again, really prompt and to the point. When the suggested remedies did not work, this vendor offered to replace the bad camera. Today vendor sent evidence that new camera has been shipped....and there is no charge. You can't ask for better tech support and customer service than this! I am grateful!

Amazon Customer: We have had this system less than a year. It will no longer record, says hard drive failed.. have never been able to play back recordings on my phone when I'm away. Nothing but a paper weight., AND ONE OF THE CAMERAS HAVE STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY.

I've been looking for tech support for help, cannot find tech support.

Charles Olcott: I have to echo some previous reviews - if you're looking for a system with a few cameras that you can throw up, record on a loop just in case with ok-enough picture, then this could fit the bill. If you're looking for anything else in the realm of remote access, ease-of-use, or concise menu options, then look elsewhere.

It does hook up quite easily, cameras have plenty of cable to get where you need them, and a single outlet will power four cameras all through their individual cables without a need for power at each location. both VGA and HDMI inputs available for monitors, which is nice. The cameras are fully adjustable, using screws on the hinge, which took me a moment to find, but at least the mounting options are plentiful in that regard. I will say though, there's virtually nothing in terms of weatherproofing on the connectors on the camera end so while these may be outdoor cameras, you might need to either tuck those up under something, or at the very least wrap them in something to seal them from the weather.

The onscreen menu is passable, moreso if you know anything about resolutions or networks or anything that might pop up. There is nothing else on screen...

Wilk: Took a couple hours running the cables to camera locations. Once set up, couldn't get it to turn on, on our TV’s. Finally hooked it up to a computer monitor and it worked great. The menu “english” is less than perfect. But eventually worked through the menus and have a running system. During daylight the view is pretty clear. You can switch between SD and HD. Night vision, lacks power. The IR shines like a tight flashlight beam so only that area is clear at night. I live on an acreage so there’s almost zero light outside at night. With an outside light on though its pretty clear. The motion alarm wouldn’t stop ringing my phone. So its useless. It’s only been a day so I can’t comment on longevity or waterproofness. The camera are really lightweight and cheap feeling. But I think it’s a good deal for $200 so far and if used inside, they should last a long time. Its unfortunate there isn't a listing for the cameras by themselves as its a 8 channel DVR.

Update: system no longer works. Somehow changed a setting that changed the display settings and I could no longer see the cameras on my monitor. Just used the mobile app to watch the cameras but that stopped...

My husband is a handy and technical guy; he chose this product and installed it around our house himself, saving us a lot of money.
He is very satisfied with the product. The set meets all our expectations. The cameras are great! Deliver very clear pictures in daylight and in the night time! Now it’s very convenient to know what’s going on around the house through the four cameras!
