Introducing eufy Security, the best DIY home security system that offers a 2K HD Wi-Fi Video Doorbell with no monthly fees! The doorbell requires existing doorbell wires, 16-24 VAC, and 30 VA or above for installation. With this system, you can easily connect to Google Assistant and Alexa, and enjoy high-definition 2560 x 1920 resolution for a bigger viewable area. Plus, get instant facial snapshot notifications via the mobile app. Build quality, connectivity, customer support, and easy installation make this the perfect security system for your home. Robert Zanatta: Very easy installation. Setup is fairly straightforward. App is somewhat intuitive. Daytime video is bright, sharp, and colorful. Nighttime video is black and white but with pretty good clarity. Chime can be adjusted to be pretty loud. App on phone responds immediately to a doorbell press. Communication with person at door has a delay, but still useable. Human detection for start of recording works most but not all of the time - the setting either missed some times out picks up way too many false triggers.
My place has a 10V transformer on the existing doorbell and that worked, which made the 16V 30VA transformer I ordered unnecessary. Tried getting it to work with existing chime but no luck (even with 16V transformer).

BB: Overall, pretty happy with this Eufy 2K wired doorbell. This is the second Eufy wired doorbell that I've installed (one for my father and one for me), and this particular Eufy replaced a Ring Doorbell Pro - so most of my review compares the Eufy to the Ring.
Installation process: My Ring was actually a replacement for one that was DOA, and I spent a lot of time on the phone with Ring trying to troubleshoot that first DOA one before determining it was just a bad unit. Installation of the replacement Ring was without too much hassle, but I'd say that installing the Eufy was very straightforward. I'd give the edge to the Eufy. My only real complaint is there are probably lots of people that dump their Ring doorbells for Eufy, and it would've been appreciated if the Eufy mounting plate had the same hole spacing as Ring. (I modified the mounting plate to avoid drilling more holes in my brick, and it was a real challenge and took over an hour to make the mounting plate modifications and get the Eufy to click into place afterward...would've been so easy for Eufy to provide extra mounting holes or slots with their mounting plate to begin with.)
The Eufy 2K has good video...

Snydley WhiplashSnydley Whiplash: I really like the high res 2K camera, best on the market and the build quality is pretty solid. Installation was easy, but I had to do some chisel work as my old doorbells were installed on slightly angled finishing trim around the door.
Still fiddling with the zones and motion sensitivity to get that right. Really like the audio options and loudness and quality of the plug in chime unit.
Bought one Eufy wired doorbell unit originally and it allowed me to set up no problem. The app indicated I had enough power. Everything seemed OK, except for a couple disconnects, which I restarted the unit and solved each time. In hindsight I think my power was a bit low.
I liked the first one so much that I ordered a second wired cam, a reconditioned one (which seemed good as new) for my back doorbell. One bit of advice is the install ID, serial number on the box of the reconditioned unit is likely not correct. Took me a few tries to realize that it was wrong. I scanned the code on the back of the actual unit and it installed correctly. Another bit of advice is to take a photo of the install QR code on your device so you have the unit number for any future unit resets as it...

Tom S.: This works with Echo with a long 6-20 second delay. I could not get it to work at all with Google Home, even after working extensively with tech support. eufy support has given up and so have I. Others on their forum are reporting the same issue, so maybe they'll eventually get around to fixing it. Very disappointing. The eufy 2k pan&tilt camera does work though. They never explained how one of their cameras worked and not another. The eufy web portal is supposed to have live streaming but neither camera would do more than a single frame. My network is rock solid as I've tested it with multiple services without an issue. It's 15 Mbps upstream which is way more than enough. I even placed a wifi access point right beside the camera. No joy.
I have a Netamo camera that works well with Google Home and HomeKit, so I don't think it's Google's fault. It's hit and miss with the pan&tilt.
The camera is installed on the wooden window frame beside a brick wall. At night the IR LEDs cause the brick to glow wiping out any visible image even with the 15º wedge pointing away from the brick. I'm going to have to mount this flush with the brick by creating a mounting block....

K Sed: I was very excited when i purchased the device at a great price on boxing day, but all the trouble started when I started installing the device.
It may store video's locally, but you still cannot do anything with this device unless you create an account and use the Eufy services. The main problem was that their servers seemed to be down over this weekend or having problems. what should have been 30 minutes, took me several hours to setup and even then I could not fully use the device.
I managed to get it setup, could see the live view, would hear the chime when the doorbell rung, but no history events, no iphone notifications, and not changing the motion detection settings.....why? because their servers were down. To boot, even to get to this point, I had to open my firewall and could not find documentation on what ports are needed.
If they are advertising privacy, everything should be happening locally at my house, except if I want to view things when i am out or receive notifications when I am out. Also, any ports and protocols should be listed so folks can set this up on a non-typical household.
Pros:
- looks
- size (it is about the size of the...

Shan: UPDATE: FEBRUARY 6, 2020
I'm updating this to 4 stars because even though my problem wasn't resolved and the "Rudy" thing wasn't explained, they were escalated to the next level and customer service tried to work with me over months to fix it. That counts for something. They do care about customer satisfaction and because of that I would feel comfortable recommending this doorbell ONLY because from other reviews, clearly some customers do not have the problem I had (some do and some don't) but if you do have issues after purchasing, it's highly likely they will try to work with you to resolve it. So kudos to their customer service for trying.
Therefore revising PROS and CONS
PROS:
-The installation of the doorbell was straightforward
-The app is user-friendly
-You can easily access help topics within the app
-The picture quality is good even at night. Plus you can correct distortion under VIDEO QUALITY
-Ring alert notification is consistent
-Local storage
-Customer Service will try to address issues
CONS:
-Motion Detection does not work consistently and at times when it does, it captures the event late.
