Dave1: Bought this and it was great for 5 months. I really liked how well it kept the set temp. But after 5 months it quit heating. The problem is that there is no way to contact the seller or manufacturer in order to either return it for a replacement or have it repaired. It only says made in china. Due to this i will never purchase anything from this seller or manufacturer ever again.

Jack:
This heater works well, but my main complaint is that it is advertised as working both vertically and horizontally. However the product I received only operates when it is placed horizontally in the tank, and flashes with an E1 error when fully submerged in a tank vertically. This caused a bit of frustration for me when setting up my new tank (and seemingly others), so I leave this review as a bit of forewarning for others who run into a similar issue.
It's a fine heater, just know that you may have to place it horizontally for it to operate.

nightsky: I love these heaters! I have silver dollars and can't have glass type heaters as the fish can break them pretty easily. I wasn't too excited having to pay over a hundred dollars for a 500 watt heater that didn't have very good reviews. So I bought two of these for my 75 gallon, one on each end. I saved a pile of money and now I have a back up in case one conks out!! These are built sturdy, they're also very accurate and easy to read! Another thing I liked were the suction cups, rarely do the suction cups for heaters really work...these things seemed to grab the glass all by themselves and really hold on...very impressive! I would like to know where to get others like this for other applications in my tanks. If these hold out for a few years, I'll be tickled to death as I haven't had the greatest luck with titanium heaters in the past. I would certainly buy these again for the price you can't go wrong!

Avi Weissbard:
Excellent product. Display the current and target temperatures. Very easy to setup and better than other heaters where you have to turn the dial. Here you press the setup bottom and the temperature is clearly displayed.
BUT stopped working after 3 years !!! You need a backup heater.
The company is looking and checking the case. I will keep you updated.

M. Frisby: I purchased three of these units. One has been working fine for two years. Another stopped heating altogether, and the timing was horrible because I turned my home heat down to the low 60s while away on vacation. When I came home I noticed my heater was not working and the African cichlid tank temp was 62 degrees! The unit never worked again. A third unit actually had an apparently broken thermostat, so it never stopped heating. Even though the temp was set to 80 degrees, my tank temp went to 92 degrees before I realized I almost cooked my fish! It wasn’t a fluke, despite repeated attempts it continually blew past the set temperature and overheated. Overall these units are wildly unreliable. Very nice when they work, but I can’t trust them to work properly.
