C. Johnson: This is my first metal detector. I got it to find nails in the back yard after some demolition. It was easy to setup and the instructions are great. It found lots of nails, including others that had been buried for decades! I did use a pinpointer, which I’d purchased earlier, to zero in on difficult nails. Overall I’m really happy with this purchase and feel like I’ve only skimmed the surface on its abilities!

Benjamin L Hodge: I bought this to try to locate my property markers (pins, stakes). I was able to locate all of them! I knew the general area my markers would be by using the city plot maps along with google satellite view. I had narrowed it down to about a 5-10 foot area for each marker. My markers were about 10 inches deep and the Bounty Hunter TK4 Tracker IV Metal Detector was able to locate them. I only had a little bit of trouble finding one marker and that was due to some other metal items around that location.
When I thought I located a marker, I would dig down a few inches and then scan the hole with the metal detector again just to make sure there was something still there. On one of the locations, while rescanning I noticed it didn't beep any more at the spot I was digging. I then scanned over my pile of dirt from my dig and it beeped.... I sifted through the pile and found I had dug up an old beer tab and a nail. I started scanning the area again and was able to locate the marker. (note: I did use the metal detector in the "all metal" setting to find my markers)

Honest buyer: I had to spent hours reading through the metal detector's repetitive user manual and type out on my laptop so I can use this thing!
I was able to reduce the font enough to just print and tape to the detector case we can use it properly!

Metal Detector Labels & Quick Use Guide:

Metal Detector: waterproof 8” coil & Automatic Tuning & Ground Balancing.
Buried metal detection in virtually all extreme soil conditions, regardless of mineral content (black sand, under water, etc.).
-Turn ON by rotating the Sensitivity knob. Clockwise to highest sensitivity setting for maximum depth & performance.
If the unit “chatters”, reduce sensitivity slightly, just until gone.
To reject most Foil & Iron objects, turn up the “Disc/Notch”(Discrimination) knob.
Sweep coil: from side-to-side, parallel to the ground & 1/2” above it. Raising coil=false readings. Move slowly & gently, moving too fast=missed objects.
Move forward to a new area, while slightly overlapping the previously swept area.
Desirable metal objects will respond with a repeatable tone. Broken/non-repeatable tones are generally false detections (electrical...

Steven Weigand: I remember as a kid wanting a metal detector. And I have a vague recollection of actually using one when I was about 10 years old. It belonged to a friend of mine. I don't remember much about it other than how it made me feel. It was like someone gave me a treasure map and said, "Go find the treasure." Anyway, forward a good number of years, and now I have a couple nephews around that age. I think long and hard about what to get them for Christmas. I always get them interesting, unusual gifts each year. I try to imagine what I would have wanted when I was their age.
