Jamie: I like that the sound speeds up when you get closer to your target. Great or finding metal under carpet, in wood, studs. It works on gold but you have to be right on top of it, for it to be detected.

J: Ordered as a backup. Tried it out, it works but needs some help. The sound volume is not loud enough when wearing headphones. The vibration needs to hit harder. The signal light on the side, you can't see in the daylight to see if you are close to the target since the sound and vibration kinda sucks. Other than those issues, it works, but I wouldn't buy again.

Travis ChaseTravis Chase: My only Criticisms are the same as others I've read, sometimes when in a noisy environment it could stand to be louder and I do occasionally hit the power button accidentally but definitely not game changers for me. The MT6 Pro reaches twice as deep as my previous device and on the rare occasion I do get EMI the filter works well although as you'd expect there is some loss of sensitivity but still better than my previous unit. All in all I feel this is a very good tool for the money. If you can't afford, or can't bring yourself to spend, the big money This will work very well.

Mike in OZMike in OZ: Just bought the new MT6 Pinpointer. What a great tool. Used it down the beach and in amongst the rocks at low tide. Brilliant, found a couple pieces worth keeping within the first 30 minutes.

Ray MonteyRay Montey: Tested the pinpointer and found it detects up to 5" (125mm) away depending on metal object size. Not only does it buzz but vibrates as well. The buzzing sound is subdued so it can only be heard close by which reduces the chance of drawing attention. Another benefit is that it is waterproof so you can sound under rocks in a stream and the vibration will let you know if anything is there. Great little tool.

MattMatt: Awesome product works as advertised and arrived quickly without any hassle.
It's simple to use one button click on, balances itself and then off you go. Rebalance by a click, find an object it has four lights as you close in as well as strong vibration.
The unit is very solid the plastic casing is tough and the battery cap is sealed by a deep screw depth and rubber seal.
Have not tried in water as of yet but works good on land.
Comes with a pouch for belt which is sturdy and well made.
It's a great product and I highly recommend.

The Fine Print: After purchasing my metal detector (a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV) and using it for a while, I realized that I needed a pinpointer. But I wanted something that was not going to cost more than my detector. The current top model seems to be the Garrett pinpointer, which costs $128 as of this writing. There are many cheap clones of the Garrett, but most have poor reviews -- short range, prone to failure, or not waterproof. Then I stumbled across this pinpointer by Dr. Otek. I decided to try it, as the reviews on Youtube seems good. A bonus is that it is waterproof down to 10 feet. $49 (as of this writing) seems like a reasonable price if it can do what the Garrett can do. I ordered the Dr. Otek and it arrived a few days later. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it included a 9v battery. The unit seems very sturdy and built well, and you can see the manufacturer had paid attention to details. The design is smooth and without too many curves and nooks, where dirt could hide. They even included a small rubber cap to protect the tip from damage during use.
