Traveling ManTraveling Man: I run an international charitable organization working in developing nations across multiple languages. The Timekettle WT2 Edge/W3 Translator is very helpful in my work. The device allows me to communicate at a fundamental level with my staff and the locals without hiring a human translator as a go between. Not having a 3rd human allows me to have true 1-on-1 conversations.

The languages I am working with are "online only" requiring an internet connection. Internet is not an issue in the cities and becomes more of a challenge as I travel to smaller village locations. As I'm working with less popular languages, local dialects, accents, rate of speech, education, grammatical structure, etc. are bigger factors influencing translation accuracy. I find that patience and commitment to communication is essential on both sides of the conversation to achieve success. Timekettle works and I recommend it!

1. Headphones are easy to fall off. I don't have this with other headphones.
2.Translation is very good and recognition is very accurate in places with good network. But in offline mode, it is a mess, and the recognition is completely inaccurate.* English to Chinese translation
3.If both parties talk together, the earphone will talk by itself, because it can recognize that I am talking and translate it when I am not talking. I don't know if it's the product.
4.Also, the application has been running in the background of the mobile phone, but the headset often disconnects itself and then reconnects * often happens! !

Duane Cabot: If you are looking for a product that is going to accurately translate, what you are saying that this is not the product for you. If you are someone that feels that something is better than nothing then this is a product for you. This was a very interesting product for me to experience. Initially I felt that this product was worth the $300 then after using it for several weeks I realize that there were a lot of flaws with this product. The biggest flaw is during time of use. There are these random responses that my partner using the other AirPod would receive. As a matter fact, there were times when profanity was translated, when no profanity was even used. It’s almost like if someone had hacked into the translator and was just trying to sabotage this product. It seems like the longer you use it the more issues and problems arise. Also, the off-line purchase was not worth the money. I feel like I could’ve avoided that extra payment and use the product without it just fine. Once again if you feel that 60 to 70% translation accuracy is satisfactory then this product might be worth purchasing.

Loren Gray: Absolutely enjoyed having these on our trip to the Netherlands. That said I had to learn how best to use them based on accuracy and variety of speakers. First, the accuracy, using them for just listening I found that it was just a bit better than 50/50, with some late text revisions from the 'live' text translation bringing it to around 70%. But that latency made it hard to maintain a good conversational engagement without that aid. Second, when more than one person was talking it took time to learn how to listen/read and divide a conversation so that you got a sense of the context of the conversation. Third, and this is a bit of a gripe, only using the mic from the phone and only being able to use the software when the earbuds were active was annoying to the point that I used another software just for text translations that were faster to start for those impromptu dialogs that came up. I can see why the separate speaker plugin for the phone would be helpful but even the need of using it is slower than other translation apps. That said, the text translation when being able to be prepped and ready to use and not needing to be contribution to the conversation was very useful. Now...

Curious Cat: This has been a fantastic set of earbuds that I've used recently on my trip to Portugal. Other than a few basic words, I don't speak Portuguese in the slightest. It helped a lot but it's far from perfect. There are some locals who would speak so fast the earbuds doesn't keep up, but with more clear and slow speech, it really does a great job at translation. You get enough battery life to last the day and with easy connectivity and use with the app.

Rae ReadsRae Reads: In the pack you get the earbuds inside their charging case. You also get a card which allows you to purchase some languages to work while offline without using either Wi-Fi or Data (which is required all the time without this).

You will need to download the app to the preferred device of your choice. Then you’ll need to register to use the earbuds.

Finally to begin - the earbuds CANNOT be used to listen to music or audio. They will only work with the translation software.

Personally, I can speak English to native standard. French well but not perfectly. Spanish well but not perfectly. I also know a little German but it’s not much use.

I would say that these ear buds work as they’re described. However they are far from Star Trek communicators.

Firstly - I went on YouTube and put on a speech from Emmanuel Macron. I could understand most of what he said myself without needing these, however because of that - I know the translation they were providing was correct. So far, so good.

Next, I put on a French Disney Paris YouTuber I watch. Again, I understand most of what he says. This is where they had a problem.

Christopher T.: Read about this product online and feature at CES. Translation is pretty good. Speech recognition could be improve. Operational modes good. But could be even better for business users if the simultaneous translation could be used with a bigger audience like in larger meetings or at presentations. Right now using phone has limitation in a bigger room. Look forward to improvements. Hopefully with software update and not having to buy a new model.
