Langogo Genesis: Portable Language Translator Device for Accurate Translation On-the-Go

mikee: For about 7 months I've been using translators everyday I've gone through four different types two types of earbuds from two handhelds. This particular one I have now broke the screen on but it still works It is by far the best translator that I have found. The only bad side is they don't have a download for the language I'm using so I have to have internet
It comes with supposedly free internet in certain countries however I happen to be on an island that it does not support the free data service. So it only works when I am within Wi-Fi range. But I will say without a doubt that this is the best translator I've used hands down nothing comes close. I am going to buy another one of these since I broke the screen.

Felipe: this is for spanish to english and viceversa. it does not catch phrases properly, background noise cancellation is not good it catches words from other people talking in the background.
sometimes it grabs the phrase you are trying to translate and it simplifies it to 4 words or so, leaving all details out, i don't know if this is a function that you can activate/deactivate, but I couldnt find the deactivate option for this, really annoying.
sometimes you would speak in english and it would write it and speak it back in english again! instead of translating, must be a glitch or something. overall useless experience. this was using wifi.
Not happy at all with the product, even though it looks super good and construction is good, the translator is not good at all. save your money use your phone app instead, it will do the same with the same annoying glitches.

Amazon Customer: The translation has good accurate abilities and can hear talking at a fair distance so don’t have to be to close. I like the size and easy use of it. The already installed eSIM is definitely handy to have instead of wifi hotspot and works just as good as home internet. I’m so happy with this device even if I payed more than what I expected to want to pay for a device but I’m definitely going to have a working device that’s dependable. I would recommend this device to anyone compared to other cheap device. Pay a little extra than the cheaper ones because you will be more happier than having troubles with other brands. Happy translating everyone.

Bert Tymchyshyn: The product is great when it is working I bought a mexican sim card and 10 gigs of data and it works fine online . The problem is it keeps jumping to american english and chinese/japanese/or arabic from the canadian english and mexican spanish i have it set for. It is frustrating becaus eit will do it in mid translation. Is there a default i can set it for while traveling in a spcific country for weeks?

Mikel BerryMikel Berry: The media could not be loaded.  As part of my work, I often travel to some of the US protectorates, like Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, etc. Sometimes, like my time in Puerto Rico, after hurricane Maria, I can be there for months. I know a little Spanish. But, not enough for me to communicate effectively with the native people who don't know any English. I used the app on my phone as a translator a lot. But, it didn't have enough skills to get me through. And, I found that I was burning A LOT of my phone's battery just trying to have conversations with folks.

My wife suggested that we need to learn more Spanish. Especially since we're getting our house built here in central Texas and most of the labor here will be Spanish speaking with very limited English. So, I had enough cause to go ahead and get a REAL translator.

AC-DC Fan: The Langogo device seems to work well so far. I have used it manually, and in person, and over the phone while my iPhone had the speaker on. It will even translate the TV across the room in conversation mode, granted not as well on run on sentences. There are some things that could be better and the update feature should enable these updates and fixes. Why I bought this: I plan to travel aboard several times in 2019 and I wanted a device as a backup to my expensive cell phone. You pull your phone out enough, and it will get dropped or grabbed and then dropped, then what!
Let’s talk about some interesting things that I did not realize about this device prior to buying:
1. There is a built in eSIM. As soon as I turned it on it connected in the US to a 4G tower with five bar signal. This was without a actual SIM card installed in the card slot. The built in eSIM connects. There is a menu option to buy time on this eSIM in all the counties that support eSIM. Note: The actual SIM card slot is a Mini-SIM not a Micro-SIM. So when you travel buy a Mini-SIM for data in the country you travel or just activate the eSIM if you want. I have not tested either but the build quality of...
