Firemom: Have used for quite a while. Easy to install just don’t like that the garage camera struggles w Wi-Fi. Have added extender but nothing helps. It works well most of the time tho. Happy with the system. For the cost it’s the most inclusive and best esp the doorbell

Tomicus: The short version - a simple, effective alarm system. I highly recommend considering it.

The longer version - This kit version doesn't come with a separate siren. The base station acts as a siren if you don't add one. I also purchased the doorbell, the door lock and water sensor as well as additional entry sensors. My large dog triggers the motion sensors. Support says you can mount them upside down and lower to try to avoid a false alarm but I haven't tried it yet. The door lock (ordered separately) was pretty obviously not new and it did not work properly. I contacted Simplisafe support and they couldn't get it to function either, so they sent out a new lock which worked perfectly. Adding additional sensors, etc. is a breeze with this system. This alarm system is capable of pretty much everything.

You can tell a lot about a company by their support team. In my experience, they were excellent. They were knowledgeable, friendly and non-rushed. They had the tools to help without having to pass me off to multiple people. Kudos.

Julie Moore: I purchased a Simpisafe System 4 1/2 months ago after my husband passed away because I felt less safe living alone in an old farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. I had several problems from the start. First, the motion detectors in the house kept alarming when my small dog would walk through the room. Support told me to move them up on the wall and reduce the sensitivity, even though they were 6 feet up. I did what they suggested, but it still alarmed when she walked in view. I never replaced the batteries after they died because they were annoying and useless for my needs. Next, I noticed the outdoor camera had to "wake up" when it detected motion. Many times, by the time it came on the moving object was out of view, or I'd get the tail end of a car going past my barn, but I couldn't tell who it was. It would literally take 5 seconds to respond, which doesn't sound long, but it is when the object or person moves out of view by the time it records. Then, after 3 1/2 months, the camera battery started to lose charge within a couple days. Now it's down to a few hours. Bob D: I was quite surprised at all the components I either couldn't get to work at all or had recurring intermittent problems with given all the great reviews on Amazon & independent reviews that consistently rate Simplisafe as better than Ring which I now have. I had my Simplisafe system for one week before I returned it and ordered the Ring system & in that one week I spent about 10 hours on 8 different calls to their tech support before I quickly decided that's enough of this nonsense. My original outdoor cam & it's replacement Simplisafe shipped me could not maintain connectivity 10 feet away through a door wall to my deck from the Simplisafe base station & their recommended wifi extender which I knew I didn't need but bought anyway at Simplisafe's tech support recommendation. How many people using outdoor wireless cams have a location only 10' away from the base station & Netgear $25 Simplisafe recommended wifi extender??? And even under those circumstances neither camera could maintain connectivity. That's where the pure trash comes into my headline. In addition in one weeks time my front & garage contact sensors failed 3 different times, pure trash...
