SPHurley: It would have been nice to know ahead of time that everything about this $200.00 camera is in Japanese.
From the manual to the on screen prompts. Amazon and the seller should be ashamed for the coverup.
Yes it works as others have mentioned but you have to print a US manual and then compare the onscreen pictures in the manual to make your selections.
Not happy with the price vs the issues.

Dfkw: full-featured backup camera that 4 view types, and lots of other features. video quality is good, and the widest viewing angle is a wide 180°. the wiring harness is also very long - we installed it on a crew cab long bed pickup, with plenty about 2 -3ft left over at each end (under dash, to exit grommet under carpet in driver footwell, along frame rail to the center of the rear bumper. simple to install - ground, +12vDC ACC, and the RCA video plug which goes into the aftermarket head unit. there are a (+) and (-) connection for the view control/zoom button.
The View button can ALSO be used to change the language from Japanese to English, if you purchase a more affordable Japanese market version (it's the exact same product, just different default language).
1) press & hold "-" (minus) button for 10 seconds and release
2) press and hold View button for 6-8 seconds and release
changes language from English to Japanese. it may be the same for other languages, or the View button may need to be held for a different length of time - don't know - just call and ask Kenwood tech support they were friendly I spoke to a guy named Bob.

650CJ: Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't so pricey. However, other than that I love it. Gridlines definitely help understand how far you are from objects. Friends are all jealous and the car defiantly looks higher class after I installed it into my car.

RnBLee: Bought the cam to work with a touchscreen Kenwood headunit. Upon installing the cam and the control unit the headunit would not recognise the remote or allow me to switch views.
It turns out that you CAN NOT INSTALL THE REMOTE TO A KENWOOD HEADUNIT THAT ALLOWS TOUCH SCREEN CONTROL. The headunit and the remote cancel each other out.
Have now kept the camera but removed the camera controls and the headunit now displays 4 different (very helpful) reverse display setting.
The camera itself gets 4.5 stars, the lack of installation clarity and the fact that I had to go back into the wiring and remove the remote reduced the score to a plain 3.

Dean Thayer: This a very full-featured backup camera that has neat multi-view features, but it's quite expensive. Video quality is good, and the widest viewing angle is very wide - 180°. Its wiring harness is also quite long. The wiring reached from behind the radio all the way along the door sills, behind the cargo panel, up to the rear hatch hinges and back down to the rear license plate area of my 2005 Toyota Sequoia. The only connections required behind the dash are ground, +12vDC ACC, and the RCA video plug which goes into the aftermarket head unit.
