Both cameras have good, wide field of vision. The monitor gives great picture quality. Best of all, there doesn’t seem to be any “time lag” between vehicle movement and monitor response when backing up. The multi camera capability of this system allows me to watch the back of the trailer when parking, watch the back of the truck when parking or hooking up the trailer as well as adding side views or a dash cam in the future. These are qualities that I’ve not found in much more expensive systems.

Wandering Not Lost: All things considered (including cost), the Amtifo system is between 4 & 5 stars. But there are some things you should know.

I purchased this unit in 2021 and it worked great, so I bought an extra camera. Pairing was easy and it worked out of the box. Then in 2023, two of the buttons on the monitor failed. Amtifo does not sell just the monitor for their systems. But their great customer service department did help me out and eventually I ended up with a "free" replacement system. Here's where it gets wonky.

The current gen Amtifo A8 has increased range, better clarity, and it cuts out / drops signal far less than the last gen system. The split screen functionality is also a bit better. The images are compressed to fit (almost) the entire view into a smaller space. So you still get about as wide a field of view as you'd want, even with a shortened HxW ratio. However, the upgrade in hardware specs means that cameras previously compatible with the A8/A9/A10/A11 systems are no longer compatible with the current gen A8 system. So while I got a replacement unit for the monitor (including one camera), I still needed to buy an additional new camera to bring me back to...

Snapperfire: I needed a rear view camera system on our VW Transporter Kombi day van that has a bulkhead fitted. I chose the wireless system route because although running cables is possible, its always a bit more hassle than you first think it will be. The great advantage being there's no need to run a video feed cable from the very back of the van to the front, you just have to provide power at the two ends of the vehicle. After looking around, the AMTIFO units seemed to be well rated and value for money and I'd say that's exactly my experience.

The kit contains all the essential bracket, mounts and bolts to securely fit both the camera and screen. There's also a decent amount of power cable supplied and the instructions are very straightforward and simple to follow.

The screen relies upon a set of soft press button to control and set modes, I'd say they are a little bit unresponsive at times but tbh once you've set it up you don't really need to press anything other than the power button.

I had a few questions for the AMTIFO customer help and I found them courteous and responsive.

The product seems well made and good quality. It came with everything I needed to fit it. I followed a video instruction to install and found it very easy. I had installed it and had it working within a couple of hours. I am not particularly handy so others may well do it quicker.

My Motorhome is six metres long. The signal from the rear view camera mounted on the exterior of the rear of the van gives a good signal strength to the monitor fitted on my dash. The picture quality is clear and sharp.

Finally there is an easy to follow instruction on how to set and use the functions on the monitor. Which has capacity for several cameras channels plus picture quality controls, pairing mode etc.

I am very pleased with this wireless system as I had a lot of problems with the hard wired system it replaced. Thanks!

Becci B.: I needed a rear view mirror form my campervan but they all required a cable run from rear to front. I do not have, nor can fit a rear view mirror which would be an additional purchase and being able to see what was behind me on my travels, I needed an alternative solution. Up steps the Amtifo A8. With its easy to test before install and all the fittings I needed, this felt like a good buy. I am not disappointed with any of the features and the ability to add a SD card to record, it also acts as a rear dash camera. All in all, this has been a really good feel to purchase product.

Shepson1: I'm pleased with the system so far. I did experience a few little issues, as detailed below. I also purchased the windshield suction cup mount to go with this. More on that later.

The Good: Setup was easy. Picture quality is very good. It also has the capability of installing an SD card and recording the video, working like a dash cam. I only have one camera so far, so I don't know how well the split screen works, but the image on just one camera is good. It is wireless, and I have a 22 ft trailer. It connects to the screen in the truck quickly when powered on, and I haven't experienced any drops in the picture or connectivity issues. It came with all the parts to install on the standard Furion mount that comes on most camper trailers now days, including a metal mounting plate. Watch which screws you use though. They send a bunch of different types, and the instructions do no detail which ones to use where. The instructions still show drilling holes into the plastic cover, but they include a replacement metal plate which is better (you don't have to remove the Furion mounting bracket).
