Annette Toone: Lots of twists and turns in this fascinating book. Really became involved with the characters and the story which spanned a lifetime.

Seraphina Moon Pekkala: This tells the tale of Clara who survives the two world wars. She falls in love with India and an Indian doctor. This tale is juxtaposed with the story of Indira an Indian woman.
Their paths become entwined towards the end of the book. However the outcome is predicable.
An average read.

Kindle Customer: This book has reminded me of what is important in one's life. The author has cut to the core of what love is and how it works. I have enjoyed every moment of this book. Descriptions of a place I now want to visit. This author should be well pleased wth her writing abilities. I know I am.

Texas Beesons: I read A LOT of World War II based stories but this is not one of those at all. The marketing of the story was likely intentionally misleading because those war-based stories are so popular. That, though, is the fault of the publisher and not the writer.

Despite not being what I expected, it’s a good love story based out of difficult circumstances and a woman who demonstrated amazing strength, determination, and selflessness.

It’s not one I (a 50-something man who likes spy novels) would normally like do my criticism is a little unfair but here it is. Boy there are so many pages that described her longing love or anguish but amounted to nothing. I didn’t need to read it over and over again but I’ll assume that is normal for this sort of story.

Let me finish my dating I couldn’t stop reading it once I was past 50%.

Kindle Customer: I loved every character in this book, that almost never happens. This story bursts to life in the author's vivid description of characters, how their lives flow, and the scenes of both war torn England and the colorful serenity of India. I was sad to finish the last page.

MuffinDiva: Make sure you have a box of Kleenex ready. The book was a heartbreaking story of love and family. I only wish Clara would of found a man that truly loved her like Anand loved Rathi. All in all it was a terrific book.

They attempt to get to air raid shelter but bombs are dropping so Mary takes the. Down to the basement, as there is no time to get to the shelter. Mary takes off her St. Christopher Medal, that she always wears around her neck, and puts it around Clara’s and tells her always wear it as it will always bring her good luck and keep,her safe.
