Lisa6000: I adored this book!!!! This is a fantastic story and wonderful audio production. Very touching. I feel like I know the characters personally. Didn’t want it to end. I never, ever read books a second time but this one I just might.

Kathleen Wogen: Another thought provoking story about humans and how we all looking in all the wrong places to fit in. Perhaps just looking around our selves we can find happiness not to far away. Or perhaps when we start to look around us true happiness will find us.

Ilene Winokur: I never expected to get so wrapped up in a story that seemed non-fiction but is really a novel. Catherine Ryan Hyde’s ability to help the reader imagine herself experiencing the character’s joy, grief, despair, and caring is amazing. This is one of m most favorite books. It shows how compassion and kindness is not that difficult even in a world filled with different realities.

Mrs J Diamond: I liked the moral story running in the background of this enticing tale If more people were kind to others the world would be a much better place. Well done for this little tale

Lozzie Bye: I love this author as she draws you in from the start of every one of her books and keeps you there until the very last word.
This book like her others seems to teach you or at least remind you of how to be a decent person and how to be ok with the fact that sometimes you are just human. This story restores your faith I. The world even whilst telling of the injustices in it.
Beautiful unusual friendship between a young ‘misfit’ and a sage old lady.
Please read and enjoy the warm feeling that love and friendship is out there

Linda Pfeiffer: When seventeen-year-old Raymond Jaffe, is asked by ninety-two-year-old Millie Gutermann, in the hallway of his apartment building, if he knew Luis Velez, it changed the trajectory of his entire life. She asked that question on the last day before his best friend Andre was to move out of State. His only other companion was a feral cat, that he would feed on his way to school. His mother was hard on him and his step-father appeared to hate the sight of him. His little sister was, well, a little sister and of little company to him. So Raymond decided to find out who Luis Velez was and help the old lady to find him. In the meantime, he took over Luis Velez's place helping the nearly blind, old lady, do some everyday chores, like going to the bank and buying her groceries. Luis Velez had done this for Millie, week in and week out for four years out of the goodness of his heart. There was no pay, at least, no pay in cash, but Raymond soon learned the true value of what he received in return. This is a friendship so loving and selfless that you may find it difficult to hold back tears. Everyone you meet along the way will add another block to the tower of love which is being built. This...
