Good Omens: Agnes Nutter's Accurate and Insightful Predictions

GC: Ho acquistato il volume il lingua inglese ancora prima di iniziare a guardare la serie tv, e onestamente non ricordo di essermi mai divertita così tanto a leggere un libro! :) Testo scorrevole e interessante per i numerosi giochi di parole purtroppo andati persi con la traduzione italiana, oltre che esilarante e coinvolgente! Non spoilererò nulla, ma personalmente ho fatto molta fatica a staccarmi da questo libro. 10/10!
Ps: se possibile, consiglio di avvicinarsi a Good Omens partendo prima dal libro!

Ana: I saw the series first and as a book lover I HAD to read this. Oh my, that's the best decision I've ever made. I don't understand why nobody around me talked about it before 😭😭 it's hilarious, witty, the writing style is delicious and Crowley is my favourite character all books combined. I'd read a million books about just him and Aziraphale if they existed with ZERO issue at all. Neil and Terry did a brilliant job, I can't say it otherwise, this book is a masterpiece. I'm almost sad I won't experience reading it for the first time again 🥲

Eva M. Rein: I saw the show on Amazon Prime. I have no idea it was inspired by a book! So I bought the book and I couldn't believe how well written it is! I'm half way through the book and I can't seem to put it down! Now I'm turned on to these authors. I'm going to go hunting for their other books and see if they are just as good!
P.S. - I bought the hard back cover and it is BEAUTIFUL in all it's BLUE glory!

LimónLimón: I ordered this book despite already having the black cover version because I just love this book (and the TV show, you should check it out if you haven’t). I was ecstatic when it arrived, yet when I opened my package, I noticed Crowley isn’t on the cover, only his wine lmao, I mean the book was in pretty good shape, just a bit disappointing. (Again, this has nothing to do with the contents, great book 5/5)

Pam: Loved Terry Pratchett for years and like Neil Gaiman, but this just didn't catch my interest. Move to 2023 and Good Omens is in its second season on Prime. Loved the first, but now decided to read what started it all. Great, great book. Want to share it with my friends, but alas most of them read "old" people books - cozies, police procedurals, "regular sci-fi, thrillers, current best sellers, etc. Nothing wrong with that. I read those, too, but they've mostly lost their love for this kind of thing. I think, the leader of my Bible study would love this, but he has no time. Oh well, they don't know what they are missing. Highly recommend! Written and streaming!

Nina M.: What can I tell you that friends who has badgered you to read this haven’t already told you? The only way you haven’t heard of this story is if you’ve been living under a rock or have time travel from the past in which case, you probably have more important things to do. But I digress. I don’t remember why I put off reading this book but I’m terribly glad that I took the time to read it before watching the series although yes I did read all of Crowley as David Tennant without having to try—the effort was actually in trying to imagine the demon as anyone else. The book was nothing like I expected and absolutely perfect.

Ron K: The Kindle edition of Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett that I downloaded was a 2011 reprint edition from William Morrow (publisher) sold by Harper Collins Publishers. At four hundred thirty-three pages, the novel is such a huge collection of very funny stuff and observations that it is best read in segments. While you are reading something else. If you get bogged down in something a bit too serious (even a book!) you would have the comfortable knowledge that you have a collection of absurdities in reserve that can pull you out of dull situations.

It is a cult classic and I am not going to waste a bunch of time trying to come up with superlatives not yet used. It is worth reading the reviews such as the ones I found on Amazon. The novel is not everyone’s cup of tea; there are many negative ones. Most of the negative ones I read were of Neil Gaiman and those reviewers complained about a difference in the Gaiman style as compared to his other works. I felt those reviewers were unfair. I can safely bet there are a bunch of Christian religious fundamentalists (not extremists) which would not even attempt to see the humor in the naming and depictions of various...
