zencatx: I bought this chair for my mother, who is 92 and has major mobility problems. I looked everywhere for a lightweight but sturdy adjustable chair she could use at the kitchen table and this filled the bill exactly! She needs a chair with arms (to help with sitting down and getting up) but the wooden dining room chair we had been using was too large to fit under the kitchen table and too heavy for her to maneuver alone. This chair is ideal. She can actually get herself seated comfortably at the table and get back up again unassisted when necessary. A little assembly was required but it was fast and simple. The seat height is easily adjustable and we quickly found the ideal position. If you're looking for a lightweight but sturdy chair for someone with mobility issues, this could be your answer. It certainly does the job for my mother, and I sincerely recommend it.

Peter in Seattle:
REASON FOR PURCHASE: My dad has peripheral neuropathy (~failing sensory nerves) in his lower legs and feet. Since his feet are now completely numb and he no longer receives any pressure feedback at all from them, he has trouble keeping his balance when his eyes are closed -- for example, when he is soaping up his face or shampooing his hair. He resisted getting a shower chair for a several years, but after he broke his arm, recently -- from a slip-and-fall on an icy patch on the sidewalk, as it happens -- it became an absolute necessity.
ASSEMBLY: Nothing was missing and all of the parts fit properly. Some of the parts had to be held together with a bit of force during assembly; I suspect this was by design, to pre-stress the parts in order to minimize subsequent loosening and rattling. Because of the moderate force required, people who aren't mechanically inclined or who have lost some of their everyday strength may need a second person to do the assembly for them, or at least give them a hand with it.
You'll need either a screwdriver with at least a couple of inches of blade or a ratcheting bitdriver with a 2"+ extender, as some of the screws on...

This is a great, shower seat that I bought for my mom. It is light, very sturdy, and compact enough for the average bathtub/shower. Putting it together was difficult because the instruction manual wasn't clear on how certain parts are to be assembled. I've put together many home theater systems, cabinets, desks and chairs far more complicated than this chair; but those things had very good, detailed, instruction manuals. This shower chair did not. I had to do some trial and error assembly as I looked at the picture on the box, and finally figured out how to put it together.
I give the chair an A+, and I give the instruction manual a D.

Rosie from Portland Oregon:
Hi: Saw this Chair & just has to have it.. AND the Price was Great too!
I am disabled & was having issues with a Short Shower Stool or seat, making it a real pain to stand from a low sitting position. THIS Full size Chair is very Nice.. it is totally adjustable Height wise and with the padded arm rests.. it makes it much easier to get up from a sitting position.
Sturdy construction, built well, Easy enough to put together, I had a friend assemble this item for me. I shop around for this chair & a good price & this one was it. Would recommend it for large size (300 lbs.)people having a hard time standing in the shower .. and the arm rests really help too when getting up .. especially if you don't have a Tub safety rail. I also installed Tub safety strips too instead of a mat.
PS: (The back & arm rests are removable also, if you don't want them).

AmznSux: It's sturdy, assembled very easily and will give the user confidence while showering. I'm not an expert on this kind of product but I can find no fault with it and found it to meet all of its claims. A good product!
