Mel LawrenceMel Lawrence: I had an earlier version of this antenna that was in use for about 2 1/2 years. Several months ago I lost reception on most of the channels. Customer service worked with me, and we determined that a part of the antenna had become defective. They informed me that a new improved version of this antenna was now available and that I would be happy with it. I ordered one and it arrived quickly and well packed.
There is some assembly involved, and the instructions are only photographs without written instructions. No tools are required. If you lay out the parts and pay attention to the details in the photos, assembly is very easy.
My antenna is mounted in a second floor unfinished storage area, near the roof, making it effectively 30 feet above the ground. As with any antenna, the higher you can mount it the better. My home is 33 miles from the nearest transmission towers. After connecting it to the existing cable tv wiring (I cancelled cable 3 years ago) and scanning for channels, I am receiving 43 clear HD channels and 8 more that would need redirecting the antenna to bring them in clearly. There are 3 tvs hooked up: one new one, one 8 year old flat panel, and a 30 year old...

David B. Jennings: Assembly: The antenna comes partially assembled, but dealing with the remaining pile of parts might seem intimidating. Not to worry. The instructions contain diagrams for assembly, and the box has similar diagrams. I recommend watching the YouTube video on assembly which will inspire confidence and give you a feel for the process. It isn't hard. You don't even need any tools, as wing-nuts are used throughout. Everything fit properly and complete assembly may take less than half an hour.
Quality: The antenna is beautifully designed to be assembled securely and easily. All the screw holes are in exactly the right place. The hardware is good quality. All aluminum tubes have plastic inserts in the exposed tube ends. The plastic components seem robust enough and snap together. The only parts that need delicate handling are the "bow-tie" antenna elements. They bend quite easily, but can also be bent back as necessary.
Performance: This is anecdotal and just my experience. The antenna replaced an older "non-amplified flat-panel indoor/outdoor multi-directional" antenna that was mounted outdoors in the same location. My new antenna received more channels, but some channels...

GKH: This is the 2020 version of the Pingbingding product with the additional VHF reflectors. I've attempted to use UHF/VHF antennas from several vendors that claimed to work over long distances... they didn't, and this does! My home is approximately 60 miles from the transmitting towers, and my height is limited to 20 ft... with the antenna mounted to a rafter inside my attic. While I didn't anticipate much performance... I was pleasantly surprised.
The antenna is shipped in a compact box, and there are pictures to aid the assembly... basically, this antenna is aluminum, and held together with a variety of wing nuts and bolts (no tools necessary). The only recommendation is that since it is an aluminum antenna the user just needs to be careful with the various parts (which can be sharp --- not too bad). Very nice packaging, and easy to install/operate. It requires the use of a 12v power supply (provided) that will use the coaxial cable to deliver the power to the antenna-mounted preamplifier... and return the received signal to your receiving TV.
Considering the price, and the size, this antenna is worth consideration for anyone looking for a compact, yet performing OTA (Over...

Francis J. Rella: I read some negative feedback about this antenna. I had a previous version and it worked great. I was able to pick up clear signals in every direction, up to 60 miles. The earlier version of the antenna was damaged during a roof repair. I contacted customer service, and they were willing to send me a replacement part or the newer version. It worked better than the earlier version and was able to pick up more channels.
The assembly was easy to follow. I suggest finding the best location to point the front of the antenna for optimal reception. I also suggest that it should be placed as high as possible. I did not try it from my attic, but reception was limited when I tried it indoors. The construction is sturdy but be careful handling the aluminum elements as they will bend. There are also some sharp edges.
It won't get as far as some higher priced antennas with longer elements, but you definitely get what you pay for, and this antenna is good value and gets local channels. I tried it from a beach house further away from the broadcast towers in New Jersey and reception was good except for ABC-7 and PIX-11 in New York. Also, reception will not work without the amplifier.
