ORrick: I am located in the western end of Riverside County California, so I have about a 38 mile distance northwest to my signal source atop Mt. Wilson, north of LA. An outdoor antenna is not an option for my situation. When installed on the back of my TV using the magnetic mount, it faces due west on the 2nd story. It is picking up the low-VHF and UHF signals fairly well but not good for the high-VHF channels. Specifically, I get good reception of channels broadcasting on RF channels 2, 4, 5, 11 and most anything 14 thru 68. No reception of RF channels 7, 9 and 13. I have some building and landscape obstructions to deal with and I suspect wind and weather are the cause of some infrequent loss in picture quality but overall, considering the distance and obstructions, I can't complain too much. I'm actually amazed that I'm pulling in 2, 4, 5 and 11 since this antenna clearly has no visible VHF elements. The cable provided is of reasonable quality (it is a shielded coax cable with enough length for a more elevated mount).

Rodney Stagg: I held off reviewing this product until I tried it a few times. Over the last 5 days we tuned the antenna in at 3 campsites with excellent results here in Tasmanian, Australia. Super easy to setup, we attach it to an popup caravan awning steel frame, tune in and use.

Ginny May: Why did I wait so long to cut the cable??? This arrived today, I plugged it into the back of my TV and -- success! I had ordered a similar one on Saturday and attached it to our upstairs TV. It worked so well that I immediately logged on yesterday afternoon to use downstairs. That one was now out of stock, but this one was available with great reviews, so I ordered it yesterday and it arrived in less than a 24-hour time span. I had cut the cable several months ago and was happy with just what I can get with the Firestick, but decided I might want to check out a few other channels. I'm getting somewhere around 30 channels including all the local networks, PBS and a slew of others that I might watch sometime. Actually getting PBS World and PBS Create that I didn't get with cable! HD channels come in bright and clear, and those that aren't HD are still as good as cable.

A word of caution -- don't fear that it's not working if your first message is "weak signal or no signal." That happened with both of these antennas, but as soon as I set them down in a good location and ran the channel scan everything started coming up. You might have to try several...
