Enhance Your Home Entertainment with the Winegard YA-7000 TV Antenna and Mount

Just Mike: Here in Cincinnati Ohio I could get all the local channels (ABC NBC CBS Fox PBS) pretty good most of the time with just a basic antenna. If I put my basic antenna in the window I can pick up channels from Dayton but would go in and out.
So I bought this YA7000 to put in attic. It’s all one piece for the antenna itself. Comes folded so you just unfold it per instructions. They lock in place once unfolded.So far with it just sitting on a table on the second floor of a three story brick house it picks up all local Cincinnati channels and also gets four or five Dayton channels including the sub channels. All without losing signal or pixelation.It’s usually the same programs as here but not always. Two shows I watch come on two hours earlier on the Dayton channel vs the Cincinnati channel.
One reviewer implies this is made in China so I asked them and here is their reply. The Winegard products are manufactured in the US at our facility in Burlington, Iowa. Amazon has country of origin as USA also.

db: I found the best online advice for a TV antenna was "Get a well known brand". I settled on the Winegard YA-7000 for it's acceptable reach at my location, It's construction and price. I'm not disappointed. I found the ease of set up and quality of construction very satisfying. The elements flip out and lock into position. Very easy. The element's are mounted on a one piece aluminum boom. There is another "major manufacturer I was looking at but discarded because upon close inspection I found their similar antenna had a two piece boom held together with a screw. Bad design, no thanks.
It arrived early and when opened was a compact and uncomplicated TV antenna that provided much improved signal strength and directivity while mounted in a first floor chair on a box. I gained 10 channels. A good sign. It's permanent location is at the top of a 30' tower, fed with quality double shield, copper conductor RG6 coax and pointed in the general direction it was in the chair. I gained 26 channels for a total of 49! 11 channels are iffy. One is a 2 channel low power community station and the other is a major market powerhouse with 9 channels approximately 100 miles away for a total of 38...

james: Nice yang antenna. Had for six days. The balun that came with it is bad. Waiting on Winegard to replace.
It stopped working today, was in and out all week. When it worked all was good. I plan on keeping as price
was low, should be o.k. with new part. Winegard replace part with in a week. Signals are coming in strong.
Should work for a few years, strong build.

Kindle Customer: I’m 64 miles from the nearest transmitter in Boise, Id. Was getting 12 to 15 channels depending on the day, just rescanned and added 20 channels all crystal clear. It’s mostly flat country from here to there, with a few fairly tall hills between. I’m extremely happy with this purchase!

4d3fect: In service of cordcutting, I ran a rabbitears report and figured that this would bring in the four channels that we'd been paying ~$50/ mo. to Dish for. Ran coax from my TV to the antenna and did a roof walk to optimize the signal. Ended up lashing this vertically to my chimney and pulled down all the channels we'd wanted, and a few more besides! Paid for itself the first month. don't know what I was waiting for.

tldr: run a rabbit ears report and if there's any indication that it might work for you, do it!
