bmw: It works. Added it to an older car. Instructions were ok. But find a video and make it even easier. There are some buttons to adjust the left right, height and zoom. Not the greatest fine tuning but again it works. Take it to a parking lot after and practice with it. I had the thing flipped the wrong way and could not figure out why it sucked. Again take it to the parking lot and practice with it. Align it there. Don’t try it and say it sucks. It takes a little set up. Or it did for me bc I hit some of the buttons.

William E Mierow: This is a really nice unit for the price and I had it set up and working in about 30 minutes. The positive features begin with the instructions themselves, very clear and easy to follow. I wired it directly into the backup lights on my 2010 RAM so that the camera would only go on when the truck is in reverse. This is very easy to do by just removing one of the tail light lens covers so you can see the wires, then simply splicing the red wire from the camera to the positive backup wire and the black wire to the negative wire. Splicing is very easy with the included clips but you can also just strip a small section of wire and splice it in that way if you prefer. Remember to wrap the splice with electrical tape to prevent accidental touching of metal parts on the vehicle. You may have to google which color is positive and which is negative on your vehicle but if you connect them and the system doesn’t work, simply reverse them, no harm done. Once connected simply plug the monitor into the DC jack and make sure the power button is on, then put the vehicle into reverse and the monitor should go on. It’s really that simple! I was amazed at the clarity and brightness of the display...

Amazon Customer: I had no trouble installing on my vehicle ('06 Toyota). The manual includes a test procedure and all the wiring/gadgets you need to do the test and the install. Following test, install was completed very easily. Use common sense about wire routing through the vehicle body, using zip ties or electrical tape to bind the camera's power wire to the vehicle's wiring harness, until you get to the place where you're tapping for power. I used the backup light, which activates the camera power as soon as I put the vehicle in reverse.

The monitor is also straightforward, including a versatile mount and easy power option off the cigarette lighter. While the power adapter includes a switch, you need to either leave the monitor on (could burn it out over time?) or remember to switch it on when you are backing up. I went with the 2nd option - it becomes part of the "routine" pretty quickly HOWEVER I would still much prefer a permanent "standby" mode that would turn on the screen automatically when it receives the camera signal. This would allow for powering the monitor from behind the dash and concealing the power wire, instead of via a button sticking out of your cigarette...

5106rocky: The item arrived well packed, I have not attached it to the camper trailer as yet but I have connected it up the camera works well picture is clear and will do the job I require to use it as a rear view camera and not as a reversing
camera. Well pleased so far.
