2020 Five-Star Yagi Satellite HD TV Antenna - Latest Model

Amazon Customer: I'm giving this product a 5 star because it works so well. even though it came missing parts. But I somewhat expected that as I purchased it as a used product, got it quicker & saved $30.00 . And it was easy to fabricate a mounting pole with material I had on hand to replace the missing J pole.
I had tried 2 other of the so called long range amplified indoor/outdoor small panel antennas but only got frustrating results. I live up in Kingman, AZ with a clear shot 12 miles from thre TV signal repeaters up on Hayden Peak. And the best I got with those panel antennas was 6 to 10 channels that constantley pixalated and dropped. Iif they even got a signal from day to day.
I decided to try this old style antenna as a last resort. Am I glad I did! Assemble was very simple & ithe installation (even with having to fabricate a mounting pole because oif the missing J pole) was a breeze. Within a little over 1 hour I turned on the TV did a scan. I was blown away! I am now receiving 59 crystal clear both visual & audible channels.

robert: This antenna was easy to install, works very well all of the time and brings in more channels than any antenna I’ve tried before. I live outside the city by 30 miles and I have had trouble finding a good antenna since we all switched to digital. This one does its job and for a decent price!! Everything I needed to make it work was in the box. The only thing I had to provide was the tv. Great product. I use a signal booster and some type of filter that was suggested as purchased together often. I’m very pleased with all of it.

Doug T.: Decent quality, a bit of a hassle to put together, good reception at over 40 miles @ 25' off the ground. Would be better with a taller mast and some directional tuning. In The Woodlands TX 77380 area pulled over 120 Houston and College Station channels. Images are good.

N. D. GrahamN. D. Graham: I cut the cord 10 years ago and have saved $50,000 over the decade from no longer paying for the satellite TV and landline phones. Math can be fun sometimes! My old RCA antenna still works fine but it is looking dingy and a little bent after ten years "before the mast". (I have changed the preamplifier three times in that interval.) So after April's ice storm bent a prong on it, I decided it was time for a change so I bought the Five Star yagi-type antenna after perusing reviews for a week. I put it up and it is strong but seemed a little narrower in its recepton field that my old antenna. I started losing weaker southerly channels because I had to point the new antenna more easterly for most of the channels which now come in strong and sharp even in heavy overcast. So I put my old RCA antenna back up on the mast pointing more southerly and connected the two coax cables of the antennas to the preamp with a "diplexer" box that combines the two wires' signals into one output without any signal loss. It worked like a charm and now we have our 39 channels back loud and clear except during the worst thunderstorms. That little antenna and the diplexer did the trick.

Amazon Customer: After dealing with satellite companies that are in constant conflict with our local stations, I reluctantly decided to go back to an aerial antenna. I was willing to buy an expensive antenna as we live 92 miles from the local stations. After researching quite a bit, I went with a standard, no frills antenna. We’re amazed at the 76 channels available for free and the clarity over our Samsung HD TV. The setup was easy and I installed on an old antenna pole inserted into an old DTV mount on my roof. For now, we only have one TV attached, but plan on using a splitter to add another TV. Overall, works well and very affordable. Final note, when expanding the aluminum wings, I used Vaseline to help snap them into place. I was worried I would snap the aluminum arms. This antenna is not fancy (electric motors or foil wings), but it works! Five star buy so far.

Amazon Customer: First of all, this is a good yagi TV antenna – and especially good for the price. Design and engineering of a yagi-style TV antenna is well understood. This antenna is manufactured in China and maybe engineered there also. The tech specifications are very good (8db gain for VHF; 12db gain for UHF) and reasonable for this size yagi with this number of elements.

Note that this is a high VHF and UHF antenna – it will not work well on transmission channels 2-6 (low VHF) even though the tech specs seem to indicate that it will. Low VHF antennas usually have an easily noted 3+ft long element on the back and today are not common because very few stations transmit on low VHF. If you need a low VHF antenna, look for the long element and a specific mention of low and high VHF in the description. Note that if your TV station says Channel 2 this usually does NOT correspond to transmission channel 2. Check your location’s broadcast-transmission frequencies to determine if you need a low VHF antenna.
