Get the most out of your kitchen with the Weston 61-0901-W Heavy Duty Meat and Food Slicer.Star: I debated on this slicer for several weeks,,, which one to get. I want to be able to slice ham, cheese, and what ever else I want to slice but I am not a heavy duty user. I wanted to get the best one for our needs and this really does hit the mark. I don't have a lot of counter space so I wanted to be able to store it without having to have a muscle man to move it. This one is light enough for me to move to the pantry for storage and back out for use. It does a very nice job and is very simple to clean. I like it a lot!

Timothy A Tobin: This is not a pro unit, of course, but it really gets the job done well in the kitchen. Solid unit with steady metal backplate for even cuts. Using it for bread and meats. It DOES slices deli thin, which makes me very happy, and I'm saving money too! For example, deli ham is now between $9 and $14 a lb, but those dinner hams in the meat case go for $5 to $6 a lb, and they're just as good (if not better) than most deli hams! VERY satisfied.

G. Skwarek: Nice and easy to clean, stays put, bit under powered. Just like everything else, it's over stated. Overall pretty ok.

Nobody: I bought this as a gift for my husband and I should have known by the price that the machine is not "heavy duty" by our standards, which is commercial grade.
The slicer is okay for slicing a chunk of ham and left over roasts from Sunday night's dinner but you can't go too fast or the meat slips out of the holder and the hand guard is thinner plastic. The machine is okay for light home kitchen use but if you need it for anything more then spend the extra bucks and buy the bigger machine at Costco. I love the smaller size of this machine for my kitchen.

toddh: I bought this for my GF who loves to cook and comes up with some of the best smoked meats with the intent to slice up the left overs for sandwiches. Also we buy blocks of cheese at Costco and wanted to give slicing that up a try.
I looked at most of the food slicers on Amazon and other sites. Since the idea was to slice smoked meats I wanted a larger blade. The Chefs Choice had the best review but they had smaller 7" blades or the larger ones were expensive. Also if you read the Chefs Choice reviews I got curious why they had such a high rating since everyone states in their reviews they don't have much power and are limited on what you can cut with them. I decided to try this one and so for its been a winner.
Before I got started I decided to do a couple things. I read all the reviews and decided to follow one of the recommendations and make sure the gears were greased. So when it arrived i I pulled it apart and re-greased the gears at the motor and also where the blade rotates on the aluminum spindle. I understand everyone wont do this on a brand new appliance but it was a gift and I wanted to make certain it worked well for her.
I also took a coupe minutes...

Amazon Customer: I’ve had this slicer for about a week and have used it to cut frozen meat and fruit and it worked well with both. It’s easy to adjust the cut depth and easy to use. It does seem to cut a little bit thicker on the front end vs the back end of the cut, so I would flip whatever I was cutting to try to keep it consistent. That has not been a major issue, just something I noticed. It worked well with meat that was frozen solid. It’s better than I expected it to be.
