Bob Olmstead: Well, these guys have x3 web sites. I am assuming there is one for their Amazon based customers (us) and 2 other web sites for someone else. Not too sure. We could "register" our product on web site A, but we could not download any of their recommended software on website A. Sent a message to web site A a few weeks back and have received zero feedback. I will get around to that communication project, again, soon'ish! The product works as advertised. Comm with the organization is somewhat lacking.

Liam: I've owned the Vantrue N1 since March 2021 and I'm now writing this review in July 2023.

The camera has held up quite well. I live in an apartment and therefore my car is parked outside 24/7 through all weather and climate conditions. The only thing that has shown signs of wear is that it no longer remembers the date and time for some reason, about 2 years into ownership. All other functions are still working perfectly fine. It remembers my plate number, and most importantly of course, it still records video just as well. In my opinion, not having the date isn't the biggest deal because the video footage should still serve its purpose if it ever needed, but it would obviously be better if this feature hadn't stopped working.

My likes:

- Easy to use. No extra frills or functions to mess with. It records video when supplied with power, and stops when it's not.

- Very small form factor for less distraction when driving.

- Basic, forward facing camera. Although having rear or interior facing cameras would provide extra coverage, a forward facing camera is really all you need to protect yourself from liability. You won't be able to see who hit you...

bpsmicrobpsmicro: Executive Summary: A very good dashcam for this price point. Other than some potential annoyances with the mount, once you get past that you’ll enjoy a very capable unit. I’m rating it 5 stars not because it’s a 5-star camera, but because it’s a 5-star camera AT THIS PRICE. I have similarly priced units that don’t perform nearly as well, and the ones I have that do cost way more.

Intro: I happened to be in the market for an “inexpensive but reasonably well-featured” dashcam for my son’s new job as a long-haul trucker, so timing was good. But mounting in a truck comes with certain challenges that may not apply to the average car-driver, making this a pretty decent test. My own vehicle has a high-end camera that cost about 7x the price of this, and in many ways, this meets nearly the same standards, just missing some expensive functionality.

In the box: The camera, the suction-based mounting bracket, a USB cable, a cigarette plug power cable, and a small instruction manual. Note that there’s only the one mounting bracket (more on that below).

Robert RuehsRobert Ruehs: Short and to the point wrap up : Great little dash cam. Not complicated at all to set up or use. Video quality is great, night or day. Records audio and easy to mute. Also easy to adjust the angle with a twist. Sucktion cup as a good tight hold, I will update if I ever have a problem with it but I don't feel I will. Long cable should I want to hide it along the windshield and door, floor etc to make it very "stealth".

Full Review : I've been on the fence about getting a dash cam for years now. While I live in a state that does not have any crazy insurance problems or discounts for owning a dash camera I still wanted one. You see more and more videos online about accidents or someone witness something with a dash cam and I can't help but feel if I was in a situation like that I'd like one too. Call it peace of mind or just the fact I can say "It wasn't my fault!" and have actual proof!
