Noemi: It has one of the best video qualities including at night. Setting it up was a bit confusing but might be user error. Still have to play around with the parking mode to make sure it works properly.

MayBaeMayBae: The media could not be loaded.  UPDATE 7/18/23: After reaching out to customer service about the wiggly rear camera, they offered to send a replacement free of charge. Unfortunately, it was sent from China so we did not get it before we left.

The bigger issue happened two days into our trip. We started getting an error about the SD card. It stopped recording onto the card and we were dead in the water for the last few hours drive of that day. To say I was irritated was an understatement. I reached out to Vantrue again. I got an email saying that I needed to format my card to FAT32 on my computer and update the firmware. Considering they had downloaded instructions for both steps, this must be a common issue. I had to download a specific program to format the card. I’m super lucky my husband happened to bring his laptop on vacation and that he is relatively well-versed in technology. Although, downloading a program via hotel Wi-Fi was a feat on its own. I can name a lot of people I know (myself included) that would have been stymied by these steps. johnnyojohnnyo: I wanted to be able to read license plates from the recordings and photos taken by a dashcam, as well as have more visibility than just out the front window - and this unit does it. The clarity in the Sony cameras' images is excellent, along with its night vision. You're safer using a dashcam that can pick up on these things. Another thing I wanted was a camera that could see more than just ahead, as what happens if you get hit from behind? Now, with the E2's rear camera, that's covered as well, and with similar clarity. Though in my case, the rear window is at more of an angle, and doesn't have wipers, so it's not going to have the same clear pictures just because it's got to look through more glass, the window defroster, and some occasional rain drops. Still, if the person behind me is looking at their cell phone while driving, I think the camera will be able to tell. The resolution is 2596 x 1944 at 24FPS, though you can select a lower resolution if you want to have smaller videos and photos placed on the card (giving more available history). Dominik B: This is a big step up for my dashcam compared to my old suction cup mount.
Firstly it has a small base making it look much nicer on your windshield.
Secondly the double sided tape sticks so much better, the suction cup mount would randomly fall, especially after sitting in the sun, this one doesn’t budge.
Lastly, the screw design to tighten the position of the camera is much more sturdy then the only design, the camera doesn’t move at all anymore.
