Start off by saying I owned a Realistic Omni Directional antenna for 20 Years installed in the attic. Looks like a space ship. It was getting long in the tooth and was not getting all the network Channels also I really wanted to cut the cord with Direc TV. Time for a replacement antenna so I purchased a Lava HD 8008 Omni Directional Antenna. Installed it and ran a Channel Scan. Every time I did a Scan, I gained about 22 – 24 channels with out the Add on included Amplifier, as soon as I added the add on included amplifier, I lost channels down to 5 Total (very Disappointed) I completed trouble shooting with a Lava Tech but NO Luck. I then set up a RMA and I am returning the Antenna.
I then Ordered the little antenna that COULD!! 1 Word - AWESOME!!

Mercilessmeng:
This is probably one of the best $30 investments I ever made. It is less than one month of cable or satellite TV fee.
I've been playing around with the flat-panel indoor TV antenna for a couple of years but can never get some of the local channels to come on consistently. I kept looking for this simple outdoor rooftop antenna at the local retail stores but can't seem to find any. I found this and another similar one on Amazon and all the reviews said they work great.
I bolted (with the supplied U-bolt) it to a DirecTV dish support, connect the coax cable and voila! the pictures came out beautifully and with colors that are as good as any HD signal from the cable or satellite TV signal. The antenna does not have to be in a flat horizontal position. As long as it is outside and point towards the TV towers, the signals will come on strong. It says it gets FM signal. I am wondering how I should hook up my receiver's FM antenna to this antenna.
With Sling TV for only the few cable channels that I watch (ESPN, CNN, TNT, HGTV, etc) for $20 a month, you don't need to pay over $100 a month for cable.
Overall, I (and my bank account) am very happy with...

Robin George Byrd: A sturdy, mid-sized antenna, easy to assemble, with very good reception qualities. I installed outside on a short roof mast at about 24 ft. with no real obstructions such as trees or buildings to hamper reception. Able to pick up one station as far away as 84 miles, with most, however, in the 40 to 65 mile range, this with the signal being fed into an amplifier and then being split between two TV's. I was able to receive the stations indicated by TVFool.com as available at my address. The F-connector for the cable is awkwardly placed in the middle of the antenna and the connection itself so deeply recessed that you'll need patience and perhaps a pair of small needle nose pliers to attach the the coaxial cable. The rear elements are secured in place by plastic clips. No way to foretell the durability of these, but for the price, the reception and overall construction appear to be much above average, and I'd rate this as an excellent buy. Came pitifully packaged but I've already left my feedback about this and fortunately the antenna sustained no damage in shipping.

DADEMARC: This is a Great Antenna for the Size of it. I does perform as well as Ones costing twice as much! It is not the best performer on VHF but does an adequate job if you don't have trees or anything in the line of site of this antenna. VHF Range is closer to the 30-35Mile range, UHF works perfectly probably in the 45 to 50 Mile range but it is directional. Overall Good Performer for the money ! I mounted this outside, since I am about 32 miles from the major towers in Tampa Bay area. This is not a Fringe Antenna.

D. Daniels: We live directly between Tampa and Orlando. About 36 aerial miles from the broadcasting towers for each city. I bought two of these antennas. Went online and discovered the correct compass settings for each broadcast tower clusters. Each antenna is 21 feet above the ground and pointed correctly. One towards Tampa and one towards Orlando. This installation is on a newly built home. All new quad shielded, solid copper coaxial cabling and a new amplified 8 way Chanelmaster splitter. Antennas and mast are correctly grounded. So, from a technical viewpoint, this is an optimal installation. No trees in the way or other obstructions in the area.
The result.......I am very disappointed in these since the reviews seem great. However, I very rarely am able to receive the Orlando broadcasts, and today we had some rain come through the area and the signals from Tampa were pixelated and breaking up. For me these are not doing the trick. Now I’m going to have to replace them. They seem to be built well, they just are not performing for me.
