The Rebecca Review: I rarely get angry or have out of control emotions but lately I felt angry about something in particular. So what does this book say to get rid of "simmering resentments" and "Good" and "Bad" anger? So as I continued to read this book I wondered what I could do personally to make myself feel better.

As Gary Chapman says: "Anger is the opposite of the feelings of love. Love draws you toward the person; anger sets you against the person." Truer words have rarely been spoken! This book explains the root causes of anger like hurt, injustice or rejection.

This book answers the following questions:

What can delay an angry response?
Why is anger sometimes an unmet need for love?
What is a loving confrontation?
Why do some people seem to have a change in personality when they are stressed out?
Could anger have much deeper roots than we imagine?
Is depression sometimes caused by anger?
How can you prevent passive-aggressive behavior?

In this book there is a prayer that when prayed seriously and with an open heart helps to dissolve anger nearly immediately. I tried it and it worked. This book also has information on how to deal with an angry...

T Mc: I believe this is a book that is a must read for all. Does a great job of breaking down where anger comes from and how to manage it.

Kayla Mayer: I cannot recommend this book enough!!! I have anger problems since a toddler but this explains so much and actually tries to help you navigate through your emotions. I love how he explains how to deal with other people that are angry.

Edith Stievenart: Lees dit boek niet als je atheist bent. Er staan heel veel verwijzingen in naar de bijbel, waar ik persoonlijk verveeld van werd. Er staan wel enkele goeie tips in , maar niets markerend.

Chloe Gilmartin: What a great book. It gave me so much advice and helped me through a really tough time. It not only helps you to identify your own anger it helps you to recognise the anger in the people around you and gives to tips on how to address it. I would highly recommend it and I have done already.

Drew Daniels: I highly recommend this book for anybody who is going through anger management issues; and or want to get there anger under control or should I say to a manageable state.

I admit, I am still learning how to control my anger every day. However, this book helped a lot and help me examine myself to address the underlying issues that I have been wrestling with for years. With that being said, I am a better person than I was five years ago. And I will continue to get better as time goes on.

Keep in mind that I am only 26 years old. I know I have a lot more Learning to do in life. However this book has made me look at anger in a totally different way. Therefore, I can determine anger in two different ways; anger that is ridiculousness and anger that can be controlled. Simply put I can now determine when my anger is anger and belligerent behavior.

The way Gary Chapman explains anger in this book is simple and easy but effective in a way for people who are dealing with these issues to understand what to do and how to control their own emotions and anger issues. However, the way he does it he just does not give you solutions to the problem. He gives you every day...

Jose Smith: I've become a fan of Gary Chapman since I read his easy-to-read, excellent Five Languages of Love.

However, if you read Chapman, you can see that the intended audience is Christians. He refers to the Scripture often and some of his suggestions involve praying to God.

If you are a Christian, this book is definitely recommended for you if you want to know how to deal with your own anger or someone else in your life who has anger. Keep in mind, I do not mean anger as only its explosive, scream-fest variant. Chapman does a good job covering the other dark side of anger: Implosion, or in other words, silence treatment, withdrawal, etc. His writing, as usual, is easy to follow. His strategies are viable.

The issue? I consider myself to be an atheist. So, is this book still relevant to me?

Honestly, yes. The author does a good job on elaborating many practical strategies and ideas. He emphasizes on listening (I love his listening, listening, listening strategy). He talks about forgiveness, a concept that should be important to even atheists or agnostics. Some of his Scripture-related stories are interesting to read, if you look at them through the lens of...
