Comments

Mark Watson: Interesting topic in dealing with the unfortunate things we have to face everyday as in dealing with at times dreadful fellow human beings.

Doug: This book is full of practical insights that really resonated with me. You won't find references to data collected from studies undertaken. The input is entirely anecdotal, based on the author's personal experiences of applying principles of Stoicism and Buddhism. I intend to read it again with a highlighter in hand and keep it on my bookshelf for periodic review.

B. J. Rolle: There are so many triggers, mean and inconsiderate people roam this planet maintaining your mental health is critical. I great gift for someone who has been emotionally crushed.

JSJ: This book describes how to apply Stoic principles in real life. It’s one thing to study the philosophy. It’s something else put in in action. This book describes how to be unoffendable, how not to get triggered and instead focus on you control, your actions. You don’t control what others think, say and do, and being unoffendable means that you can live life to the fullest. You can let go of what others say and do and instead grow and thrive as a human being.
This book has joined the list of books I will multi-read because it offers timeless wisdom on how to get a little better every day.

Anurag Arya: The author has written this book with great care to explain the application of stoic principles in everyday life with examples from folks of different walks of life and from his personal life as well which in itself is courageous. The book is in a simple language and it's easy to relate with the teachings in the book as it reflects the inner struggles and victories of most people. Appreciate the honesty of the author.

Kunal: A meaningful book. Based on writer’s personal experiences. Easy to relate and very informative. Gives you a perspective on how to live your life in today’s world

Steven Kerry: This is a book that feels like it was written by a young man offering excellent and sage advice in a flawed manner. The content is helpful, even powerful, but the way it is presented is moderately problematic in various ways. The book appropriately identifies the ancient philosophers and practitioners of Stoicism as well as their most helpful and salient points while linking the benefits of the Stoic life-view to contemporary society. It is when the writer attempts to integrate his personal life experiences into the material that distraction and, at times, confusion interrupts the flow. Also, one questions if there was an editor or a good super-reader involved in the process? I ask because there are a number of grammatical errors and awkward sentences within these pages. As a self-published author myself I have been guilty of some of the same so I spot such errors swiftly. Great material, but hire an editor or get feedback from a hawk-eyed super reader next time.
On page 99 the author encapsulates the word progressives with single quotes, thereby giving the impression he is cynical about this group. Ironically, this is the exact group most likely to be attracted to this...

Goran Vinko: Do you know what you really, really want?
This is one of the questions author asks, and gives plenty of examples from his life.

If you're looking for a simpler and deeper focused life, than this book might be for you.

Ruby: I really enjoy the author's YT channel, so I was hoping the book would be just as good. This book is a great insight on some of the basics of Stoic thought and virtues. I really liked how the author took us through his upbringing and how he came to study the Stoicism and Taoism he talks about on his channel. I highlighted many many sentences and paragraphs in this book to help remind me when I need it on how to not take was rude and awful people say so personally as I've done all my life. The are jerks everywhere. It is a fact of life. And there will be some jerks that take it out on you or dislike you for no real reason or thing that you've done or not done. This books helps you remember those facts of life so you don't end up hurt by it all expecting strangers or even some acquaintances to be nice all the time.
