Lakesha Wooten: This book had be doing a lot of reflecting and self assessments. It breaks down so many things that have you wondering. I love the questions at the end of each chapter. Have you realizing your not putting yourself first. Great book!

D Williams: I purchased this book and it was delivered to me last night. Before leaving for work today, I grabbed the book. It's Friday and a slow day at work, so I decided to start reading the book with the sole intention of just reading 2 chapters. How about I wound up reading the whole book and just about underlined every page and dog-earred the exercise pages. This book here is the greatest gift I could have ever given myself during this really mentally and emotionally challenging time in my life. More like a straight to the point life-saver. Straight to the point books are what I like. For someone who has always done what others wanted me to do, this book put me back in the game of putting myself first. Never-forgetting those who helped me, but paying more attention to me and my needs versus everyone else first then me.
If you really need a pick-me up to help get you started on putting you first, this is the book for you. The biggest thing for me was her straight to the point discussion and well-deserved RIP of the strong black woman syndrome. Overall best book I've read this year!

Tamura Sanders: I liked the honesty and openness. This book touched on so many things that I am experiencing right now and have been for a long time. I have started on a journey of putting me and my needs first but I fall back into to norm of mostly being a great mother and employee. I want more now and I have to believe that I deserve more. I’m really glad that I chose to read this book.
I would recommend this book to other black single mothers, my cousin, an old class mate and my mom. I have the kindle version of this book but I will purchase the original copy so I can have it at my finger tips and do the exercises in the book.
I enjoyed reading this book because I see that I’m not alone in what and how I was feeling and the things that I have faced and are challenging day to day.
Thanks
Tamura

Misty Monteith: I didn't know that this was the book I've been waiting to stumble upon for so long.
I love that the author was willing to open up about her personal struggles and pain which made it all the more easier for you to trust her written wisdom.
She's witty and real! Although, I am not American, I am definitely Black and still can relate on so many levels. This has become one of my newfound favourite books to read.
