JC: When I first plugged this in a couple of weeks ago the pads did a good job of getting wet. I had checked this as I saw one review where the rear pad was not all getting wet. This morning, though I checked the pads again (not something I normally do) and noticed that the rear pad was only getting water on about one-half of the pad. One side pad was pretty much all wet and the other was about 80% wet. Since most of the air coming through the cooler comes from the rear, that means I am blowing about 50% of hot air at me. So, not too impressed with that. I like pretty much everything else about the cooler, but I bought it primarily to blow cool air, so good looks, maneuverability, ease of use, and so forth don't weigh nearly as much with respect to how I rate this cooler. Much less than impressed with performance of the cooler only getting one-half of the rear pad wet, which means inefficient/non cooling of the air. You would think that for the price of this cooler the water distribution on the rear pad would have been figured out by the manufacturer.

C. Okamuro: I was looking for an evaporative cooler or misting + fan system to stretch out my outdoor enjoyable time in the hottest months. Since I live in Houston, the climate is not very well suited for either solution. Undaunted, I decided to live with the reduced evaporative efficiency, and bought this unit.

Unboxing/Appearance
The unit arrived in the manufacturer's carton, with no outer box. Inside, the cooler was bagged, and held in place with foam corner blocks. The overall packaging was such that there would need to be significant box damage in order to affect the cooler. Once unboxed, there is no assembly, aside from attaching a brass hose fitting (if you intend to hook it up to a hose for continuous use). The cooler seems well-build, but with little aesthetic value. The casters are great on this unit. I know the dimensions of the cooler are listed on Amazon, but the size of the unit was still a little surprising when I first saw it.

Operation
All of the controls are easy to operate, and can be used with gloved hands. The float gauge is the absolute worst part of the device... it's extremely cheap, and does not shut off the pump in a dry reservoir condition. The...

Kiara Nin: Update 9/9/2015: After speaking with customer service, they said that I can send it back for a refund; but, that they do not know "how" much money I will get back. The warehouse determines how much of a refund I should get. I guess that this must be a percentage of how much they think they can resell it for.

So, I have tried to repair it myself. I have called repair men and they do not know where they can find a replacement pump for it. I lugged the machine down to National Swamp Cooler, a company that sells all kinds of swamp coolers including gigantic industrial coolers, and the parts to go to swamp coolers. That guy said he had no idea as to where I am could get a replacement pump for it. He suggested that I go to Lowes and get a pond pump. So I did. I bought a fountain pump and cut a hole in the cardboard filters for the pump's plug to go through and that works just fine. An additional $35.00 in cost. But now I have the thing up and running again. What a nightmare.

Update 8/23/2015: Amazon customer service referred me to the warranty information. The warranty and service is handled by another company called KAZ. They only handle defects in workmanship not normal...
