We live in a very dry & sometimes hot area, which requires some kind of fan, preferably w water tho. This swamp cooler works much better than a typical fan. We have it in a large, open living room with vaulted ceilings & it definitely cools the area down significantly. It can swivel during use which is a plus and either function as a swamp cooler(using the water function) or regular fan. However, since it’s dry where we live, we have only used the swamp cooler function. Unfortunately, its not super quiet, it’s as noisy as a regular standing fan, but I guess that’s to be expected. It’s a decent size, but doesn’t require a ton of floor space as it’s tall, rather than having a big floor circumference. It also comes w a remote which is convenient and works from our couch which is approximately 10-15 feet from the unit. I think it would work from an even farther distance if needed tho.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is: price is a bit on the expensive side & would love if it had an auto shutdown when the reservoir runs out of water. Instead, you must keep an eye on the water level to...

Kathy: Got this for my husband who works from home in an upstairs bedroom. He complains that it is always too hot and cranks up the A/C to the discomfort of everyone else downstairs, who freezes. I bought this to chill his office, so the rest of us don't have to suffer anymore! He is very hard to please when it comes to gifts he didn't ask for, and not only did he think it was a good idea, he said it works really well. I love having a remote and the reusable ice packs (although ice cubes are optional). I would prefer that the door to the water tank were bigger, so as to fit your hand through it without scraping on the edges when retrieving melted ice packs. It would also be nice if the door was hinged so it wouldn't fall in when closing it. Also, it would be more convenient to have the water level display visible from the back where you fill the tank with water, so you don't have to stop and keep checking since you can't watch what you are doing from the front and back at the same time. Otherwise, it does the job!

Becca Mae: I live in Colorado where few of us have central A/C but it can get well above 90 degrees for several weeks during summer. Rather than spend thousands for something I'd only need about 4 weeks out of the year, I tried this to keep my bedroom cool at night on hot days. My bedroom is about 350 sqft and there is NO way this actually keeps the whole room cool... So be dubious of the claims that it cools up to 900 sqft. However, I have it next to my bed and it does sincerely keep ME cool enough to sleep comfortably. I'm glad I bought it. It's easy to set up, easy to operate, and not terribly noisy either. Only negatives to note: 1 - at night the function panel is VERY BRIGHT. I put a piece of clothing over the top otherwise it would totally keep me up. 2 - It's actually a bit hard to fill with water. I've tried a few different cups/measuring cups and you can't really pour a full cup of anything in. I also haven't figured out what amount of water is too much. It's important to be checking the front and not pass the "MAX FILL" line, which isn't easy to do WHILE you are filling from the back.

Kaitlyn Taylor: Nice fan. Simply that though unfortunately . I like the looks of it and the noise level is quiet. I had high hopes for this fan considering the price. I used both of the ice packs and even added ice with plenty of water and it was still just a fan in my opinion. It still remained 11 degrees hotter in the house than the outside temp. After a few hours it did drop 2 degrees in the room. Not only did I have the ice , water , set on cool and placed on high speed but I also had two other fans in the room and still just circulated warm/cool-ish air. As a reference it was 82 degrees outside and 93 inside with three fans going including this AC fan. Last night it got so hot in the room , I tried this fan again with more ice this time with plenty of water settings on high, the other same two fans with it but this time I also pulled down the shades to the window and door. Only dropped 3 degrees over 4 hours. Yes , I did try this fan on its own and it was worse without the other two fans. I won’t be returning it because I am a stay at home mom
of a newborn whose husband works late hours and I live in a rural location and the chances of me able to leave the house to bring this huge...

Don Scott: Product was delivered early. It is well designed and easy to assemble. The controls work well, and I have no complaints. But if you are considering buying one, keep in mind that any evaporative cooler will function based on the temp of the incoming air and the humidity. If you live in a desert-like environment, it is often easy to forego refrigerated air and go with a swamp cooler. That's because the humity is often in single digits. But if you live in a high humidity environment, swamp coolers will do little more than blow air.
My first use was today. Room was 90 degrees and humidity was 65%. Note even close to ideal. Using tap water, the fan did almost nothing to cool my workspace. So I bought some ice. That caused the air to get much cooler. It was now working. The problem is that the ice will melt very quickly. Far to quickly to add ice every time it stops cooling. Also, the melted ice turns into water that just fills up the reservior. So if you wish to go thru the hassle of buying and adding ice, be prepared to use a ladle to remove water every time you wish to add more ice.
Overall, it's a nice unit if you if you are in a low humidity environment, and are only...
