Moussa: My room is above the garage and gets very very hot in the summer months. This thing does a good job of cooling of a single spot, the problem is you have to constantly fill it with water and ice for it to be effective. It does not cool off a small room and if you live in a humid place like myself (Ontario humidity varies from 40-80 percent in the summer) then this is nothing more than an expensive fan. Luckily Amazon has a great refund policy and I purchased an 8000 BTU refurbished portable AC from a local shop for 50 dollars cheaper and it does 1000 times better of chilling my room ice cold. This unit is only effective in hot dry climates such as Vegas where humidity averages at around 10 percent.

Was skeptical at first, due to general reviews on the product by other consumers, but had looked up on a website which evaporative cooler was highly recommended for 2019, and just went with it.
Having had it for this past week, i can safely say this thing is AWESOME~~ We have a shared office space between four ppl, with computers and printers. A/C in the building don't work, so invested in this little guy. Dayum does it cool off the room. Don't expect A/C level of coolness, but if you have a small room, little to no ventilation this thing does the trick.
Can't say much about the controller. Package didn't come with a battery, needs one of those CR2025 battery.
Noise level is reasonable like any other fan.
Definitely need to add water to have the effects work.
No problems as of yet. (only one week in)

Chris Hinds:
This is a great concept, with semi-decent execution.
We live in SW Colorado, where everyone uses evaporative (swamp) coolers because the humidity is so low that they work great, and having your house at 20-30% humidity instead of 7-15% is a bonus. Be award that if you live in an area where the humidity is above 40%, this thing is just a very expensive fan, and will not cool at all.
It has has nice features, including a variable night time setting, and an oscillating grille. On low and medium, the fan is fairly quiet, and still moves a decent amount of air. On high, it is fairly loud.
With a full tray of water, it will go at least 8 hours without running dry, but that's not necessarily a good thing... The "3-d" pad is better than a 2-d one, but doesn't afford as much surface area for evaporation as the aspen pads that normal swamp coolers use. Not as much evaporation means not as much cooling. To work well, this unit really needs about 4x as much evaporative surface area. If I get bored, I may find some aspen padding and try it out. That would hopefully improve the rate of evaporation, which would make it cool better.
As it is, I...

Lori Myers: We live in Seattle, where it really only gets hot enough for AC maybe a month a year.....mayyybe. We didn't want to spend the $300 on a portable unit so figured we'd compromise and try this out. This is absolutely NOT an AC unit. That being said, it does keep the room very nice and cool just not in the same way. It does leave the room a bit humid, so it helped us to crack some windows open while it was running. It also worked splendidly adding ice to the reservoir. When it runs on high, the water does need to be filled often, we were not able to make it through the night without waking up to see the water indicator light blinking that it was out of water. I'd say on high, it will run 4-5 hours before you need to add water. It's only meant to keep one room cool at at time, so we moved it to each room we were camped out in. I'd say if positioned in a place with adequate air flow, It will keep a about 300 sq ft cooled at one time. So, I'm very happy with this purchase, it got us through a 95 degree weekend.

James Brown, Jr.: I had mine for 3+ years now... (I know a little late for a review but heh...). I will say this, this is a decent product and it worked well. However, over time its flaws were glaring. The biggest one was the water tank. I thought that you could pull it out completely when you needed to clean it. Sadly, to clean it you need to unscrew a screw from the bottom to get it out and even then it doesn't come fully out of the unit. not to mention that If you don't screw it back just right it will start leaking. The fan works great and there are a few tricks you can do to get cool air without using the cooling aspect of it. Of course that isn't what the machine is fully for. Plus, it can get hard to clean. I would suggest getting some canned air and blowing it out periodically. I still use mine now but I am planning to replace it.
Would I recommend this product? Only if you are willing to do the work to keep it clean and kept up. If you do you will get a few good years out of it. Otherwise, it's decent but others are better.
