Sam D.: Review is the (Renewed) Sony DVPSR210P DVD Player. With all the streaming services available nowadays there’s really no need for a standalone DVD player. However, we wanted an entry level DVD player to pair with the TV in our camper and play movies to calm kids down at night during camping trips. It doesn’t need to have all the bells and whistle but it does need to be reliable and play the DVD’s we want. This renewed Sony at under twenty-bucks fits the bill perfectly. We’ve run through at least two movies and worked flawlessly. No skips, jumps or any audio/video errors. Anyone looking for basic DVD player you can’t go wrong on this one. It comes with everything you need - Remote Control, Batteries, A/V Cables. One thing to keep in mind when considering this player, it DOES NOT have HDMI. RCA and Component Y, Pb, Pr only.

A person.: It arrived in a timely manner after ordering, looked to be in decent condition and was properly packaged (courtesy of Amazon, of course).

Plugs in and powers up easily, but... Set to French. If you're an English-speaking person reading this review, you can probably guess that the chances are I don't speak French. Nor is this product advertised in French that I'm aware of so I'm not sure how a product was advertised in English and then sold set to French. Minor, minor, MINOR nitpick on this. Powered it up, switched the language over, popped a DVD in after dad said it didn't work. First DVD it spent about five minutes trying to load before kicking it out and saying it could not read the disk. Okay, I figure it's an old disk and pop in a disk for a movie I never watched. Five minutes of loading and "could not read."

If a product is supposed to be "Certified Refurbished" then it should be capable of performing the function it is meant to be capable of performing. You know, the one it was BUILT to perform. It wasn't just built to turn on. The whole purpose of a DVD PLAYER is for it to PLAY DVDs. If you sell me a DVD PLAYER. I expect it to at MINIMUM be capable of PLAYING...

Kat Ryker: I ordered this as a replacement for a unit that finally just stopped working. Same make and model and since the first one lasted for a few years, I thought I'd replace it. It isn't exactly the same, in that it works slower than my other unit did. By that I mean that everything seems to take a second or two longer to react. When ejecting a DVD, when it turns on, when I hit the play button - everything seems to be slower. Unfortunately, the other unit won't turn on, so I can't compare them side by side. It works fine, it was easy to hook up, all the cables I needed were there. It turns on, plays well, the buttons on the remote all work well. I can't really say too much negative about it. I'm pleased that it works as well as it does for a refurbished unit and the only thing I can complain about, if you could call it a complaint, is the slowness in the response of the unit to the remote.

Josh A: Like any good millennial, I found myself at a loss when I brought home a First Aid certification DVD and realized I had absolutely no way to watch it. (Who has a DVD player anymore, anyway?) This one was cheap enough that I felt like it was worth having for those rare occasions when you actually have a need to watch something that isn't streaming. I have never bought anything refurbished before, but I took a chance and had no problems at all. It worked fine out of the box and does everything I need it to do, which is pretty much just play DVD's from time to time. (Bonus: it is also a CD player, which is something else I don't have outside of my car.)
