Henry: I received the unit on Oct 12 2023 hooked it up to my TV using the Hdmi worked just fine. I then played a Cd on the unit also worked fine. I decided to see about reading USB drive again it worked fine. Now the last thing I did
was removed the Hdmi cable and hooked up RCA composite cable to test the unit . It worked just fine no problem. The only con I see is the fact when powering the unit off with the remote the off leds is lite and no complete shut off. I guess it the way it is design. Time will till about the reliability factor.

Rev. George: As described. Cables will work with any T.V. HDMI connection is on-point.
For others, Color Coded Cables also work. Video clear and Audio. Size is compact versus, bulky units.
Price point is excellent. Remote works very well. I work in Quality Control in another Venue but have knowledge of electronics as well as a hobby for many years. I would thus far, recommend this unit to others.
Light Weight and well constructed. Applied for Warrantee and very easy to do so.
As of 10/24/23, works fine!. Better than expected. Thumbs Up. Testing completed. Scores Five Stars.

Dominique TALARCZAK: Lecteur simple à configurer à l'installation. Concernant les branchements, le câble HDMI fourni est un peu court. Une trentaine de centimètres supplémentaires sont nécessaires afin de placer l'appareil dans un meuble TV. Les sous-titres sont configurés en Anglais à la livraison. Heureusement la notice est en Français et il est nécessaire de reconfigurer. L'appareil est compact, simple et fonctionnel. L'indicateur indique OFF en permanence lorsque l'appareil est éteint. Il pourrait simplement être éteint. L'image est correcte tout comme le son en branchement HDMI. A voir dans la durée.

RealNewYorker: All I really wanted was a DVD player for the old DVDs I had lying around in the house. Although there are streaming options, most of the time I find that the old movies I own and play over and over (Princess Bride, My Cousin Vinny, etc) usually require renting in order to watch again. At $4 a pop, it's not that much money, but knowing I already own these movies prevents me from renting them. It's not 100% logical.

After trying to cheap out and actually finding a $14 DVD player on Amazon (that refused to play DVDs for longer than about 7.5 seconds), I decided to send it back to Amazon for a full refund, which they did.

Now, "upgrading" to a $32 DVD player (this one), I have finally found the one that just works, and works well.

It plays every DVD I've thrown in there and with a decent playback quality. It won't play Blu-Rays, but I never went for a Blu-Ray setup in the first place. The only movies I want to play are old, and the quality is typically not that good, but this player works just great for them. If I had some high-end, hi-res movies, then it would be a different story, but I don't.

My only "complaint" is that the remote is overly complicated,...

J. G. Roland: I've only had this player for a few days but my initial impression is it's pretty good value all things considered. Set up was a doddle though the miserable 1m HDMI cable was unusable due to being so short.

I haven't tested all the features but have watched a couple of live concert DVDs and was pretty impressed. It does however have its faults, the above mentioned HDMI cable being way too short, also, when the unit is switched off there is a rather large bright orange 'OFF' light on the front panel....why? Why not just a tiny red LED like everyone else? The remote is a bit hit and miss, it really needs to be pointed directly at the device. My other device remotes I could stick in my ear and they would still operate whatever button was pressed.

Some folk bemoan the lightness of the remote, to me it's perfect. My £400+ Marantz SACD player's remote weighs about 30g heavier and I put that down to using heavier AA batteries as opposed to skinny AAA batteries.

It states you can apply for an extra 3 years warranty by scanning a QR code, well I can't do that so e-mailed the company to register but never heard anything back.
