JMH: This is a great slicer for the money. So far I've used on about 10 lbs of jerky meat, and 5 lbs of homemade bacon. Pretty quiet and slices quickly and evenly. Setting 5 for jerky and setting 4 for bacon was perfect thickness for us. Cleanup doesn't take long. I also ordered a non-serrated blade, but the serrated one cuts just fine so haven't put on the smooth one yet. I'm happy with my purchase.

Iain: Does a nice job plowing through brisket, bacon, whatever. Still a pain to clean properly (not sure any are easy though) and it doesn't get quite as thin as I'd like. On its thinnest setting, it still slices a reasonably hearty slice of bacon.

Jeannie Hennig: Easy to use. It is very lightweight. Mainly because it is mostly plastic. The food pusher is metal. The food carriage is plastic but metal lined. I did buy the straight edge blade to cut meat and cheese with. Cut some summer sausage today and it was a very even consistency. I gave it a 4 because of the plastic catch tray. It is too light to stay in place. I put out a small metal pan for a catch tray.

Snow Storm: I've been using the Chef's Choice 615A Electric Meat Slicer for a few months now, and it has completely changed the way I prepare meals for my family. I find myself using it multiple times a day - it's that useful! It's great for quickly slicing cabbage, cucumbers, and carrots for coleslaw, and it makes it easy to salt cure pork and slice it thin for charcuterie. I've also used it to turn roast beef and pork into sandwich meat in seconds, and it's perfect for slicing bread and cheese to any thickness.

One of the things I love most about this slicer is how easy it is to clean. All of the major moving parts can be easily removed and washed in the sink. As a pro tip, I'd recommend purchasing the circular blade option for better micro-thin slicing of softer foods, and be sure to wear cut-proof gloves while using the slicer to stay safe. Kindle Customer: Bought this to replace our 43 year old black and decker slicer! Looked at many but this one did the trick. I like that cutting tray and guide make it easier to slice longer items like pastrami and eggplant. Hubby loves the tray that the meat etc. drops on, can be served directly from there. Cuts bread easily as well with cheese. The construction is sturdy. great value for the price.

C2C2: When I purchased this, the color that I ordered was grey. I would never call this color grey, but green. Although the pictures that I posted make it look grey, it is definitely green. I wasn't thrilled with that, but that is strictly cosmetic, so not a big deal there.

The blade that comes with this is serrated and it cuts very well. It has plenty of grease on the blade to keep it from squeaking. It is a good idea to purchased a tube of grease to keep it well greased.

The food carriage locks into place when you are not using it and that is a nice feature. The power button is at the end and it stays on when you are using it. I do like that feature.

Though the description says that it is an easy clean machine, I do not find it as easy to clean as my former slicer that I used before this. Some of the parts come off for easy cleaning, but the food tends to stick down by the lower edge of where the black plastic safety piece by the blade meets the carriage. I am a clean freak, so I try to get every bit of food out and keep my slicer sparkling clean. This was not nearly as easy to clean as I had hoped, so I marked it down for this reason.
