Reader: Definitely eye opening and something I’ve been curious about for quite some time. Reassuring read to know the facts about what I’ve been taught and lead to believe my whole life. I’m anxious to start this new life changing journey. Those cravings for beef after playing sports- is for real and I didn’t know it before.

mmarkandaya: I am so glad that I found this book. I have been mostly on a paleo diet but noticed that I was constantly getting more tired, sicker, worsening asthma developing metabolic syndrome (hypertension, prediabetic and dyslipidemia–high triglycerides and low HDL). In addition I had significant IBS that seem to be exacerbated by the salads that I ate. I really did not eat any processed foods or sugars or desserts. And still every time I eat the salads I was bloated at terrible gas and needed to use the restroom at least 4-5 times a day. I found the carnivore diet and within 2 days my IBS was gone! I cannot believe it! I always thought that you had to eat your vegetables and fruit in order to get nutrients and be healthy. While I love to eat meat I ate the salads because I thought this was necessary for health. Man I was wrong. Now my metabolic syndrome is reversed Coma my asthma is gone my IBS is gone my skin is better and I feel like I am in my 20s again (I am in the late 40s currently). Thank you Dr. Shawn Baker for putting this message out there and for your book. It literally saved my life.

Terry Dunn: Dr Shawn Baker provides an intelligent, comprehensive, and compelling argument for the carnivore diet. Erudite and witty, with the odd splash of sarcasm, his mix of opinion, experience, and science-backed discussion is both entertaining and fascinating. I left the carbohydrate-filled junk behind me years ago in my diet. I don't touch fast food with a barge pole. I eat whole, fresh food; meals that I prepare myself. And my diet has been keto for a while now. But I have been persuaded to eat more meat, fish, eggs and cheeses, and less vegetables, and my health, strength and energy levels continue their upward spiral. Read this book.

Eka K.: I have long discovered that in order to get anywhere with your health, YOU have to do your own research, without relying on the medical establishment to help you. For years I have been trying to figure out what I can do to heal, and this book was the final stepping stone that led me to the answer.
Baker explains in layman's terms the human body's need for meat, why it is required, and how it is processed in comparison to other foods. The concept is simple: by eating only meat, you remove all "fluff" that your body normally has to fight through, giving it more energy and power to heal itself. I particularly liked the sections dedicated to answering the skeptic's questions about carnivores, such as the alleged lack of vitamins and minerals, or the alleged need for fiber.
Granted, not every human body is the same, and some people may not take well to certain diets, even if they work for huge numbers of others. I recommend this book to anyone interested in nutrition, and how it affects *everything* in your system. What I have learned (from this book and personal experience) is that health truly does start and end with the gut, and this book can provide valuable insight...

Freda Moon: I've spent my entire life questioning the system and going against the grain. I was a vegetarian, a vegan, a raw vegan and a Seventh Day Adventist during my 20's. I had a lot of health problems as a teenager and was in search for answers. I tried the no meat approach and got only sicker, more depressed, weaker, fatter and just plain miserable. I remember the first time I decided I was going to eat meat again and had some roasted chicken. I couldn't stop eating it. It was so delicious. While I started eating meat again, I was still deeply entrenched in the ideas that I needed greens too so I ate a lot of chicken salads. I didn't start eating more red meat until I learned about Weston A. Price and even then I was only eating red meat several times a week. Even though I adopted all the beliefs of the Weston A. Price foundation and incorporated them into my daily life for several years, I just kept getting sicker and sicker and sicker. I then switched to a Paleo Diet felt better, hopped over to a Keto Diet (indulging on copious amounts of fat and low protein) and while I felt better for a couple of months, I was losing gobs of hair and then my health took a turn for the worst.
