Laurianne Bastien: Easy to install. Sensor can be installed on either side of the door alarm. The self-adhesive stickers are located separately inside the package alone with the instruction manual. The alarm can be "unclipped" from the mounting bracket to replace the batteries.

Bruce E "Cousin": First off, the alarm kit does as intended. The price is reasonable. Many reviews do not seem to understand the various settings. The alarm will only trigger if you punch in the activation code to set the alarm. Otherwise, it will remain silent throughout the day unless you flip it to "chime". The code activation is the on/off of sorts. The reason for my rating is a few issues that make me deduct from a 5-star review. The points are for the door alarm portion and not the window kits.
One, as many have said, there is no armed indicator light. Was it already armed in the evening by a spouse or disarmed in the morning? No telling from looking at it. A simple red indicator showing armed would be helpful.
Two, the description really doesn't make it known that the doors need to be flush with the door jamb or frame. In my old house, they are not. Maybe my fault for not closely examining the pictures. I found a lucky workaround in that I have a large gap at the top of the door which allowed the magnet to be mounted on the top frame gap and the alarm to be mounted at the top inside back of the door. This location, while odd looking and awkward to punch in codes, is maybe a...

SriSam: This is an excellent door/window alarm with very loud volume. Installation was easy. Test it and then hard press both the magnet and alarm unit.
There are two issues though:
1. Depending on how you mount (right/left to the magnet piece), you will have to open the door/window to slide the side button that faces the magnet. When you open, you may have to suffer from the loud beeps
2. The 4 beeps when activating the alram is quite loud.

IreneL: I purchased the set of three.
1) Two of the units were easy to install, the third one was not, as the door is recessed. I had to try and find something the thickness of the recess, then stick the unit onto it so it could line up with the activator part.
One was installed on the inside of the storm door. Its performance is intermittent. Sometimes it chimes, sometimes it does not. Trying to test to see if the neighbours can hear it from their place, I had to fiddle with it for several minutes before it finally went into alarm mode.
2) The distance between the activator piece and the unit needs to be 1/2" or less. This makes the switches (alarm/chime or Away/home) unreachable without triggering the unit's noise. Not very practical.
3) There is no volume control. One of the units is on a sliding door off the living room where dogs get let in and out several times throughout the day. Even the chime is loud enough to be irritating enough that I remove the unit in the daytime. Haven't found a solution to that problem as yet.

Fuzzball: My husband and I are currently building a house. One of our soon-to-be neighbors told us that they saw some random people snooping around the new house at 2:00 a.m. What are the odds that someone at a construction site at 2:00 a.m. has any good intentions? Enter: need for an immediate burglar alarm system. The house is wired for a professional home security system, but we can't activate it yet until more construction is complete. I looked up battery-operated alarm systems and decided to try the GE system kit because of the mostly positive reviews.
Overall, I think the system kit will fit most our needs. It's not the fanciest, but it's loud enough to wake up next door neighbors during the night and call attention to our house. I set the door alarm off while testing it out, and my ears were ringing for almost 30 min. As discussed in other reviews, the alarms might not be enough to protect against the more determined burglars, but I think it will ward off most. Plus, when combined with motion-activated floodlights and other defense measures, it becomes just another way to make burglars reconsider their plan.
Setting the door alarm code is simple, and installation is...

Karma: Ok, you better try the thing out without the back cover on, cuz when you screw up like me, you will be freaking 😳 out to shut it off after putting the code in frantically 10xs, and it won't shut off! 😧So the thing needed to have that batteries taken out. I had to run around looking for the screwdriver, while it was SCREAMING, I wanted to grab the hammer instead! BTW, it was 11pm, in an apartment complex. I ran into the closet...OMG. 🚨 Ughh. I did what it said to activate the alarm, and when I went to leave, it went off! Haven't hooked it back up, cuz I'm too scared, and it's in pieces somewhere now. 🥴 Have fun!
