Emily: Very solid dog door, well made. There’s 2 flaps so took our dog a little longer to get used to the double design but it’s needed due to being through the wall.

RaymoRaymo: I bought this dog door based on its price and reviews. It is a very well designed and built product. I bought it despite installing it in a wall of a brick home that was thicker than the maximum wall width for this unit. I did this by lining the interior with fiberglass shower stall material which I already had from another project. The photo shows the installation with the flap removed. This is not the easiest installation but when looking at alternatives for a thick wall install that cost over $500 this seemed like a no brainer. I wish Baboni offered a thick wall version. This could be accomplished very easily by supplying the two dog doors in the narrower version with a 5 or 6 inch wide connector sleeve in the wider width which could be slid over the two end sections. This arrangement could accomodate many wall widths greater than the 7 ¾" of the standard unit .

David LoweDavid Lowe: I bought this months ago but waited a while to install it. I guess I was a bit intimidated about the installation, but it really wasn't that hard.

I think the most difficult part of installation is that I have stucco on the outside of my house and most of the installation videos I had seen assume a basic wood siding or wood panel exterior siding.

The other thing that made me pause was I wasn't sure exactly where to put the door. My house has very low windows so putting them under a window was not an option. I also didn't want to put it in a place where people could see I had a dog door. That might be a security risk. I was able to find one location that worked and then it was simply a matter of determining that there was proper clearance and no wiring. I cut a hole small enough that repair wouldn't be too bad but yet also allowed me to determine whether the inside of the wall would be sufficient to house the dog door frame.

Once I determined that my location would be big enough, I had to figure out how to cut the outside opening, which is stucco.

I used all the patterns and templates provided and it worked well. I used a circular saw with a carbide...

billshoffbillshoff: I have two small dogs that are constantly on squirrel patrol, and I picked this pet door to install myself. I'm handy with DIY projects and I watched numerous videos to teach myself how to tackle two hurdles that most installers won't have to deal with: a wall stud and two electrical outlets in the exact spot where the door had to be.

Using a saws all, I opened the wall and removed the wall stud. I eliminated the interior electrical outlet and moved the exterior GFI outlet to a position over the new doggie door. I added a wood frame to the opening to frame the tunnel of the doggie door on four sides. I glued closed cell foam to the backside of the interior door and used two tubes of silicone caulk behind the exterior door to guard against water leaks. The flaps do a good job of blocking the wind.

The new door is 22" higher than the brick walkway so I needed a ladder. Luckily there was used one for sale on FB Marketplace for $15. What a deal!

Now if can just train the dogs to use it! I think treats will be involved.

My Saints can go in and out with no issues.
Easy to install.
Cons:
I'm concerned about how the flaps will hold up in the winter. I'll change my review accordingly after winter! Sometimes the one inside doesn't click in all the way around. A simple foot push fixes it(when I see it).
I almost wish there was a 3rd weather flap.
My Chihuahua cannot share this door without assistance(but it's an xl dog door)

I'll likely purchase a small door for my small dog. The XL door is perfect for my Saint Bernard's. The one in the photo is only 17 weeks old.
