LifeRegeneration: Great cat door with easy slides to set door for in, out,locked,or open. The ONLY problem we had was with the tunnel for deeper wall - it does not fit into tunnel on both ends. Had to use wire nippers to cut slits to fit, leaving a sight gap at the bottom. Wish the creators has been more accurate in making every Cat Mate door to fit the Cat Mate tunnel.

G.: For the last 10 years I have used a standard semi circle cat flap by a well known brand, it has a magnetic strip the full length of the cat flap door so the wind whistles between the very slight gap that is between the magnetic strips on the frame and door. I read about on draught proofing a cat flap and such but there didn't seem to be any good options for it back then.

In any case I have refitted the kitchen recently so bought a new flap just to make the place look nicer, to my surprise given the price, this is a very well made cat flap. It looks lovely, and there is no brrrrrreeze getting through it but for the sake of two very very tiny pinholes of draft where the hinges are but it is to all intents and purposes, draught proof. Indeed it just went through a windy storm across the UK without issue, magnets small but firm enough and with a good fit so the gap is absolutely minimal where I cannot feel air movement, and the brush fabric around the rest of the flap where the magnet isn't, keeps the heat in and cold out.

For the small price, good cat flap. Should be the basic standard for them all to follow as a baseline but sadly not.

Eagle Wings: It's a square, so straightforward cutout. Easy to fit if you have the right tools. I fitted it to a pvc door. Was tricky to get the scores to connect bringing both sides together, not the products fault, my DIY skills are to blame. I solved that issue by sealing it closed with high strength clear bonding glue. Now it's watertight and solid. You can lock the flap to open out only, open in only, open both ways, or locked both ways. Cat was a bit suspicious at first but after a couple of weeks is going in and out with ease.

DariushdDariushd: Used to have similar door in our back door, but bought this one to use in the wall since we decided to change our back door to a glass door where we could not use a cat flap. This unit works great going through a wall with the extenders however our cats had a lot of trouble with the flap and refused to use it. Turns out that the magnet is too strong and the cats thought the door was locked. I snapped off the magnet and now they use it regularly.
The locking mechanisms easily get stuck and need to be lubricated and are hard to reach comfortably when using the door in a wall since the flap
Itself sits on the outside of the wall and you have to reach into the wall tunnel to reach the locks. If the flap mounted to the inside wall this would be much easier. But since this is the only lockable cat flap with extensions for wall use, we’re kinda stuck with it. I wish they would move the flap to the inside wall to make teaching the locks easier.

l batesl bates: My son bought this and he is not mechanically inclined, but he said this was a really simple install. It works great to keep the kitty litter and food in the garage separated from the dog. Also keeps the young children out of the garage, but allows the cat peace and quiet.

Harlan McGhan: This is not a 5-star review because the original order did not arrive as scheduled, apparently lost somewhere in transit by the USPS. And there were a few problems with the door itself, noted below. It is a 4-star review because, when I contacted Seacorals to report that I still had not received the shipment several days after it was supposed to arrive (and was not able to find out anything about its current whereabouts using the tracking number supplied by the USPS), they promptly sent me a new door and expressed considerable concern over the shipping failure. Also, the problems with the door did not prove to be serious.

The cat door itself appears to be of good quality, and is not difficult to install, though installation in a 1.75 inch thick solid-core door between our house and garage presented some challenges.

First, the liner that fits inside the cut-out is not nearly long enough to cover the entire thickness of a door this wide, leaving an unappealing brown strip visible through the middle of the opening. I solved that problem simply by lining the cut-out with white plastic duct tape. This matched the white paint of the door and the white plastic of the cat...
