Dan: My '13 Wrangler Unlimited did not come with a backup camera, something I missed from previous vehicles, especially with the marginal rear visibility with a hardtop. Fortunately my Jeep has the MyGig radio, which can be configured to accept the camera using a Bluetooth USB adapter and an app for my phone. Pulling the dash apart was simple, and other than the time it took to neatly route the wire the install was very quick.

I have aftermarket wheels on my Jeep, which have center caps that are larger than the stock wheels, so the downward view is a little obscured, but not to the point that it interferes with what I need to see.

One word of caution: when routing the camera plug through the grommet in the tailgate, be very careful not to damage the area concealed by the plastic sleeve: this contains the VERY thin wire that controls whether the guide lines are visible or not, and can be easily damaged. I managed to break the wire so my grid lines are visible. I may repair the wire at some point, but for now I'm just glad to have a functioning camera.

Jake: I ordered this camera for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK. The camera arrived quickly and the packaging was good and the camera and other materials were well protected. The instructions were a bit vague, but there are several videos online that can help. With saying that, it was a bit more difficult to install than I expected. The supplied inline splices that were didn’t penetrate the wire jacket in a couple of the attachment points, causing me to trouble shoot each connection to determine why I wasn’t getting power/video feed. Connection to the head unit will vary by brand, so I won’t address that. Once I finally got the connections established, the camera performed great. It has a good clear picture in both daylight and night. Now for my biggest headache. When I went to install the spare tire on the carrier, the camera bracket wouldn’t allow the camera to reach the wheel opening. This prohibited me from mounting the wheel.. My Jeep has the Altitude package and the size of the wheel openings must be different than what they designed the bracket for. I ended up adjusting the bracket by bending it in order to change the height and angle that the camera pokes through the wheel. So...

Zero: After drooling over everyone else backup camera and having issues with my dark tinted Jeep JK backing up at night, I searched for a camera that could work with my stock MyGig Head unit. Most of the solutions required multiple splicing and did not work well aka no factory plug, you either needed to make an RCA connection or you needed to buy a 3rd party adapter from another seller. Not that I mind doing that but I want to ensure all parts work together as I don't like to rip apart my dash multiple times. After finding this product the install time was approx. 45 mins as I am careful on removing paneling. I do have aftermarket LED lights and taping into the reverse light did require a quick volt test to ensure I had the proper wire. I did not use the blue taps that came with it as I opted for a tap with a quick connection push in plug for water tight fitting :-), it's a JEEP after all. Once that was completed I used electrical tape liquid and a water sealer on the connection. YES if it fails it's a PAIN to remove but for my application this worked out well. I could have ran a second wire all the way to the dash and tapped in up their however I felt it's was best to keep the power...
