Joan E Calvo: I purchased this item in July 2021. It was easy to set up and use. We used it several times a week until July 2023 when it stopped spinning the discs. That works out to about 30 cents a week which isn’t bad. Still wish it had lasted longer.

Rach: A DVD player should last more than a year. After almost a year it just stopped playing dvds. Don't waste your money and buy something well made that will last longer than a goldfish.

Jennifer J Schindler: I was desperate to find a region-free DVD player so I could play my DVDS from both the US and the UK, but I didn’t want to spend a fortune. I read a bunch of reviews, purchased a different brand, and it didn’t work. Then a friend told me about the Sandoo DVD player so I decided to try it out. I’m so glad I did! Not only is it region-free, it also plays my DVDS that were finicky and wouldn’t always work in my old player. The picture is clear. The remote is basic but does everything I need it to do. The machine is a bit loud at start-up, but once the DVD is playing I don’t notice the noise. It’s light weight so you may need to Velcro it down (mine shifts slightly when I put in a new DVD). I’ve been using this for about six months with no issues. And at the economical price point you really can’t go wrong.

Vlado: I just got this DVD player today and I am really happy with it. The picture quality could be a tad better, but it's still very sharp and clean. It's dark in some areas, wish the brightness was more elevated. But still very good overall. The remote, however, did not come with batteries, so you will have to get your own 2 pieces of size AAA UM-7 batteries. I verified to see if every accessory came with the dvd player and it did: remote control, HDMI cable, cable for audio/video and the user manual. Nothing was missing and nothing was detective. 5/5 points on that one from me. The remote control buttons work effortlessly, gliding smoothly with your fingers when you press them. No wonky buttons that get stuck.

Very great product. All in all, I am thoroughly satisfied.

Heidi Potter: I purchased this DVD player as a gift for my 83 year old father. He had already done some comparison shopping/research on Amazon and narrowed it down to this model. He is very particular, so I hoped that he would be satisfied with this choice. The DVD player arrived quickly, within a couple days, and he set it up immediately. Since it includes an HDMI cable, it was just a matter of attaching the cable to the TV and DVD player and plugging it in...super easy! My dad is very pleased with his gift. He's impressed with the sound and picture quality for movies and he's been using it to listen to music from some old CD's. I know he's going to get hours and hours of enjoyment from it. He had a question and called the Sandoo customer service telephone number and he said they were very helpful. Great product at a very reasonable price.

7R: For full disclosure, I was asked by the seller to leave a review, however, these are my honest thought on the device

Firstly, the device does as advertised - its a region free player. I only have region 1 and 2 discs, but the player reads either without prompting to switch regions or limiting how many times the region can be changed. The picture quality is acceptable, especially given the price range.

The product is easy to use, with only two minor complaints:

Firstly, the IR signals are coded in such a way that they sometimes interfere with other IR equipped devices on my entertainment unit (Skip Scene from this device's remote uses the same signal as the Power On/Off signal for my soundbar) This of course, is not to any fault of the product, more a fault of IR technology. This was easy to circumvent with some careful placement of the devices that were interfering.

Secondly, the HDMI cable included is rather short, maybe 3 feet. As entertainment units (and the TVs on them especially) are tending to get larger, this made it difficult to connect the player to my tv and find a spot for it on my shelf, I ended up using another longer HDMI cable I had...

Kyle: I bought this DVD player as a replacement for another DVD player of mine which was starting to malfunction due to age. While I was slightly disappointed this DVD player is lacking a few functions the old DVD player had, this one does make up for it with its ability to remember where it left off on DVDs. Overall, it's still a very good DVD player, and definitely worth it.

Philohistorica: I gave it 4 stars, with a point off because I find it to be somewhat noisy when a disc is loaded into it, and as it plays. I have it sitting on a cloth mat to deaden its inherent noise somewhat. That's the only issue I have with this great little DVD player. One of the reasons I was interested in buying it is its small footprint, which is perfect for setting up in a smaller room. Another reason is its metal box, which reminds me of the quality I've enjoyed with my old (quieter and much bigger) Toshiba, still working well, since 2008! The tray doesn't have the sturdy feel of my older model DVD player, so we'll see how long it holds out. However, I can't complain for the price I paid ($60)! The other reason I was interested in it was the multiple formats it can play. I am not disappointed! Easy set-up, easy to use, and beautiful picture in any format. Comes with HDMI and AVI cables, so you have more options for your set up. You'll need to supply the 2 AAA batteries for the remote, which, by the way, is a comfortable size and weight, and super user-friendly. Everything about this machine is easy! We've been enjoying using it for our movie nights!

Climons: I still have a huge collection of DVDs. Despite a vast amount of HD content on external hard drives served by OSMC player + BD player + netfilix, I nonetheless keep 10+ years old small Samsung TV and DVD player in my home office. Many of discs I posses haven't been reissued on BD, especially eastern European movies and films from the former USSR, which I'm especially fond of - real masterworks. Recently 12+ years old trusted Philips DVD player with once hacked regions has started to show signs of giving up. Freezing picture, especially on double-layer discs during transition through layer break, a lot of whizzing sounds, etc. The replacement was due, but within a hundred bucks, no more. Region free feature was a must. The current machine was chosen not in the least because of advertised "updated 2020 version".
Started working right out of the box, with the same HDMI cable the old one was connected. No issues with the discs that exhibited problematic behavior on its predecessor anymore. Picture quality is what to be expected - come on, it's a standard resolution at best on most of the content. Certainly appreciate automatic resume - the old player required pressing play button...

🐱Mrs Kitty🐱Mrs Kitty: UPDATE! I am so pleased with my new region free, multi region dvd player. It's compact 9×8.5 inches and doesn't take up much space. The remote control is the perfect size for me anyway. I seen some reviews complaining about the remote control size and that's why I included a photo. It is easy to work but if you do have a problem customer service is top notch. Also I did recieve a coupon for giving a honest. But the coupon didn't sway my judgement on my review. This player is totally worth the price even without the coupon. . I hope my review helps someone get them a great region free player. The end of update. I'm so excited and thrilled with my new region free dvd player! It's easy to work and I had no problem with getting it to play my region 2 dvd's. Just plugged it into my tv and popped in the region 2 dvd and after about 10 seconds the dvd started playing. It does say in the instructions that it takes a few seconds to pick up on the region code and so on. Also the price was great! No more paying expensive prices for Dr. Who US sets or others lol! Because 1 set I wanted was a older series is running for $145 and I got a region 2 series of the title for $21! It's perfect! If...
