Blueduster: Picture quality: The picture quality depends on many factors, signal strength and receiver are some. I have a LG older HD TV. The channels I get with a strong signal are excellent.

East to install: Again that depends where you put it. And where you put it dictates what channels you can get. I put this one in my attic which was not an easy chore for an older senior citizen. Anyone that's handy with their hands should have no problem.

Value for the money: I have another antenna that was half the price of this one that gets about 30% more channels installed about 30 feet from it.

Buying an antenna takes some research. The most important item is your location and even a few feet up or down can make a difference. My son about 12 miles from me get around 50 channels. With this antenna I get 8 to 12 depending how the wind is blowing. My other antenna a few feet away get around 25 channels. The houses within 500 foot radius of me can get from 3 to 30 channels.

So do some research, see what available in your area. The commercials will tell you that you can get all the major networks. On a good day I can get 2. I find there are more retro channels that major...

Long Time Customer: Our tv stations are 21-35 miles away (NOT 65), yet we only barely get TWO! We live in a very flat state, no buildings, airports, even trees in the line of sight to TV towers only 21-35 miles away. I used app "RCA antenna point" (free) to check distance and direction (even though this is supposedly omni-directional, the 2 telescopic antennas can be aimed which I did). It is also mounted on the peak of the roof, on a pole. The 2-3 channels we do get are very clear, there are a dozen others that are so broken up as to be unwatchable.

Jim: I connected this, per the instructions, and didn't get even a bit of static. Double checked all the connections, changed antenna orientations, and so on... nothing.

I'm an electrical engineer, so I opened the thing up to have a look inside. I verified that the amplifier itself was in the antenna housing (where it should be). The little thing that goes between antenna and TV is just a power injector. I traced out enough of the circuit to find and verify the power rails in the antenna... and the voltages were all as expected.

What WASN'T as expected was the build quality: There was flux everywhere (I cleaned it off), and a large blob of solder in the middle (as best I could tell it was a crude attempt to fix or reinforce a trace). There looked to be a solder bridge too, which I also fixed. The circuit board was flexed upward in a bad way, too- because the RF connector was taller than the mounting posts.

The circuit was mostly passives- just one TO-92 package which was probably a voltage regulator, and one surface mount package (SOT) that was probably the gain stage?? No markings to know for sure.

The antenna itself was an aluminum loop in the housing, and...

T-Bone85T-Bone85: So.... making a long story a little shorter. I have a small little cabin on a large lake, 95% of the time we are outdoors and never inside, but if inside it is always nice to watch a little TV. I bought and have used the black flat mat antenna for the last two years. I thought it worked ok.... the stations I am trying to pick up are all 30 miles away as the crow flies in 3 different directions. I got about 16 stations - most came in and would freeze making it very difficult to follow a story line. So I said what the heck, let me try this one.
It came 3 days earlier that the earliest prediction. So that was a huge plus. I mounted it and then ran inside to see if anything changed....I had a small booster than came with the other flat antenna, and I simple used that...
after re scanning the channels ...I got only 4 channels and all of them digitally breaking up! I was mad as .....well, you get the idea.
In the back of my mind - all boosters the same? Right? noooooooope! So I took the tv off the wall and went ahead and replaced the old booster with the one for THIS antenna... and re scanned.....
WOW - what a shock .....I had 16 that sometimes I could watch and all of a...

MarlenMarlen: This antena is amazing. The antena was put up on top of a two story home. All I had to do was rescan the channels and noticed the difference in a heartbeat. Before I only had about 10 channels and most of the time I had pixelation problems. The Antv antena grabbed about 100 channels and a great deal of them were new to me. I am Hispanic and the new line up of changes has more variety. I was able to grab many more Hispanic channels as well as some intended for the Hmong community and the Hindu community. I love the quality of picture this antena provides. And best of all , there is no more pixelation or loss of signal. A must have for every home. A great buy for the price.
