Makala Kuhr: This was an interesting contraption. You fill it with water manually and then it kind of cools the air while at the same time spraying mist on you. It is portable which is great. It won't cool down a room which is says clearly that it doesn't do. I gave it 4 stars because you have to sit in front of it for it to work well. Its a good solution for people who are sitting at hot jobs. Also you have to make sure to refill it. An interesting device for sure and a little pricey. So four stars

Namelia: So, in truth, we still haven’t used this cooler w water or ice (or both). It’s been so humid this summer (here in NY) that we didn’t want to add even more moisture to the air. We’ll do that in the winter when our apt gets so bombarded w heat that we have to leave all the windows open and the air gets so dry...I think some cool mist and the fan together will be perfect to keep us comfortable this winter. I’ll update my review after we give it a try.

In the meantime, I LOVE this as a fan bc it’s small and light and you can charge it up and use it anytime, anywhere. We use it at home and we’ve also taken it in the car and to my parents’ and it’s been a very helpful little device!!!

Steve S.Steve S.: The media could not be loaded.  I am staying in the back room of a friend's hours for a bit, and his AC happens to not quite hit the spot in the afternoon. I am next to the back patio, which is nice, but the sun heats it up. From 4 pm to 9 pm it turns into an oven, here in South Florida. I was JUST about ready to order 400 dollar portal AC with hoses and mount kits, so maybe 500 all in.

Thought I would try one of these. I thought it would increase the humidity too much but figured what the helo. This thing is magical. The atomizer is quite efficient. When the portable temperature sensor shows the back room going to 77, then 78, then 79 (with a high of 83 once), you sweat all the time, and it's miserable. This saved me. I keep it plugged in, and the cool mist blows across my legs at my desk. If it's too close it gets TOO cold. At 80 degrees. :)

I take it with me outside on the patio, on a 93 degree Florida afternoon, and I can stay out there for HOURS. I do not break a sweat. Used to have buckets rolling off me and down my shirt. Alyssa: One fill (to almost the max line) lasts about 2 hours before needing to be refilled on max speed and constant stream.
It does not cool a room, in fact in kind of makes the room humid instead if you're not being directly blown on by the fan.
It's effective range is about 7 feet, anything more and you don't notice anything from it, fan included.
I have it sitting off to the side of me on my desk, about a foot or 2 feet away, similar to the display picture and my right side is very moist constantly and feels like I just ran out in the rain and stayed in the same clothes: would recommend tank tops or the like for that proximity.
This is more of a mister than any kind of AC, that being said, its better than nothing and at least makes 100F outside bareable in an apartment with no AC and 3 constantly running computers.
It's not particularly loud, as a sensitive sleeper it's no problem on constant stream. However the other misting options do have a noticeable noise for each time the mist is turned on. The button presses are very reactive and clear to display. The buttons also sound very hospital-like when pressed.
The cord is poorly connected and falls out/stops charging...
