Plugable 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub with 36W Power Supply for Charging and Data Transfer

Yankee: Just reporting that I bought this in May of 2020, and it finally just gave up the ghost in August 2023. It saw daily usage and went through a lot of abuse. With the sorry state of modern consumer electronics lasting barely 1 year, I'm actually quite pleased to have gotten 3 years out of it.

bcall: This USB hub works well most of the time, but I've found it struggling in some circumstances, like when using it with a high resolution webcam, microphone, eye tracker, keyboard and mouse. Most of those devices individually aren't a problem, but sometimes the combination causes it slow down or reset. I've also noticed the power block producing a whining noise.

Overall, it's a nice lightweight and versatile USB hub, but it has its limitations.

Con eso conecto tengo 36 dispositivos conectados de manera MUY estable, ademas de dos monitores de 55" e interface de audio.

Brandon K: I ended up getting this Pluggable USB hub after looking extensively for one that had QC ports that were also actual USB ports. Most of the hubs with charging ports, the charging ports are not USB, just charging ports. This one actually has two ports that can deliver a fairly rapid charge AND also connect to the parent USB port, making it perfect for charging AND connecting phones without swapping ports. Also, those ports work great on a USB powered Blu Ray drive without having to use extra power plug.

I did have to exchange my first one as the left charge port didn't connect to USB (but it did charge), the replacement is working excellent. I also like the ports are on the side, making the jumble of cables more manageable than pointing upwards. Not full 3A USB-C charging speed, but I do at least get a "charging" indicator on my Pixel, instead of the "slowly charging" I get from other powered hubs. Overall, it has excellent features and works well for the price.

Phillip Le RossPhillip Le Ross: Writing this for other music production users - can confirm that this works well with no noticeable latency. I've got the 7 plugs used for the following: mouse; keyboard; midi keyboard controller; Maschine MK3 Mini; Audient iD4 audio interface; 2 external hard drives.

I've tested the audio components together with the keyboard and mouse and haven't noticed any lag so it's doing what I hoped. My main goal was to have all my hardware plugged in with a single cord needing to plug into my laptop which is never permanently set up where I compose music. This allows me to do that really well.

Amazon Customer: I purchased this hub to bypass a problem where the USB 2 ports on my laptop stopped working and only the single USB 3 port remained functional. I did not measure the USB 3 speed but a backup to an external harddrive seemed to run at about the same speed as directly connecting to the laptop USB 3 port.

An unexpected benefit is BC 1.2 charging on ports 1 and 7. Again, I have not measured the charge rate but it seems to charge my Galaxy S8 at comparable speeds to the dedicated charger.

CADcliffCADcliff: After many years of service my previous brand USB hub finally failed. I wanted a USB hub to use in my office to keep the USB more easily accessible to flash drives, as well as my 2 USB transmitters for my Logitech M-50 wireless trackball and 3DConnection space mouse. This hub was low profile with front access so it fits under my monitor within easy reach. The source USB cable and power cable come off the back working perfectly with my other cable routing. I keep a USB cable here to use for transferring pictures from my phone or camera to the computer. I used 2 small pieces of double stick mounting tape and secured it to the top of my Netgear network switch. The instructions were clear and straightforward. The AC power supply block is a side mount so it doesn't wipe out a bunch of spaces on my surge protector. It has a power switch safely on the back (which I will never use) so it will not be accidentally hit while plugging/unplugging devices or cables. The 2 charging ports can be used when the computer is off (for charging). It is well made with high quality fit and finish, and good packaging for shipping. Well worth the purchase price. Bulldozer: I bought 2 of those 2 months ago, 1 was for a friend the other one for me. They are just as described and work as intended. It was the best option I found after searching for several hours on Amazon, Best Buy, ebay and so on...

I was primarily looking for a 10 Port instead of 7 but the prices were too high for good quality ones. Also when I found good deals, the products were pretty bad according to most of their reviewers. That being said, I still think that the price of the ''Plugable 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub'' could be a little lower. At least it's well rated and it does what it's supposed to do. That is what helped me make my decision and buy this one.

I like the fact that the blue lights turn ON when a hard drive or something else is connected then turns OFF when removing it... But the blue lights are pretty tiny and could have been a bit more obvious and closer to where the connectors are because they can be hard to see depending on where and how the Hub is positioned on your desk.

The Power button is definitely something that's super important to me and that I was looking for. But I really wish that it had dedicated Power switches for every single USB plugs....

Name unimportant: This is a well-made, fully featured hub. The black plastic has a clean, simple practical shape. The printed logo is unobtrusive. The indicator lights are blue and small, bright enough to see, but not distracting. The on/off switch is a power saver and a safety feature in the event of the need for an emergency shutdown of the attached devices. The USB ports are spaced far enough apart to make plugin and pullout of the connectors easy. The power cord leading to the transformer and the cord leading from the hub to the computer are long enough to allow for convenient placement of the hub. The power supply is strong. I have used four external SATA hard drives simultaneously along with a USB powered fan and they all worked perfectly, recognized immediately and files read and transferred without problem. I cannot speak to transfer rate because I use this with an old (Dell Latitude 830) computer with USB 2.0 ports on a Windows XP system. I am satisfied that this is one of the best, if not the best, USB 3.0 hub on the market.

Phil: Works well. The only drawback with it is that the special power ports that allow you to charge devices that pull more power than what computer USB ports usually provide don't always work with some devices unless the hub is disconnected from the computer. For instance, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S that won't charge when plugged into the computer. When I plug it into the special power port, it connects to the computer and refuses to charge. Even after doing a software disconnect from macOS, it's unable to charge it. However, if my computer is off or the hub is disconnected, then it's able to charge it. It'd be nice if there was a switch that could disconnect an individual port from the computer to allow for full power charging.
