We got blue and silver ones, one each. The blue one was missing a turn dial and just looked cheap overall. The silver one however looked ok and so we kept it and returned the blue one.

I needed a compass for artwork and the flimsy plastic ones were worthless. This one is accurate, has replacement parts, and the company will replace the item or refund your money if it breaks "no matter how long it has been." Plus, a nice hand-written note expressing appreciation for the purchase.

This compass helps to accurately draw shapes, such as the circles in my photos. I can draw individual circles and overlapping circles a lot faster and more accurately, with this tool. As a Graphic Design student, this compass makes drawing geometric shapes much easier. By using this compass, I feel more confident about the end result of my hand drawn pictures. By using this compass, I am able to present to my professor and to clients/customers art work-drawings, paintings, pictures that are worth to put on display to look at. One of the kids needed one for school and the one he had been using was horrible in that it would not stay at a fixed size and the circles came out as ovals. I went looking for a good quality one like I use and this one has all the features of my professional drafting one but at a fraction of the price. Its held up very well and it actually stays set on a diameter so you can draw circles.

Compass is very accurate due to wheel running along threaded rod. Dont be confused (as i was) ..this compass opens to 4 inches..total diameter of 8 in..i read it wrong..thought it would open to 8 in..overall luckily i only need 4 in opening so works for my application..very good quality and value..i recommend it

Too much play in the screw setting and the spring tension is too weak so it won't keep it's setting. If you open it too wide the whole thing falls apart and is VERY difficult to re-assemble. On top of this, the tiny screw that holds the pencil lead was loose in the package, luckily I discovered it before it got lost. I threw it away and bought a much better one for almost the same price.
